I'll admit I didn't know much about Jeff Buckley, had heard of his Dad of course, so when me and Wendy saw Elvis come on to introduce Jeff and, with us being in 3rd row I seem to recall, the explosion of applause behind us made us look at each other and say, 'Jeff who?' What an introduction to his music eh! It was a great but too short a set, just like his life. This is great to hear again.
Oh my god!!! I saw this live, was sitting right at the front. So incredibly happy to find it uploaded. It was one of the most amazing things I ever witnessed in my life!
whoah !! just finding the meltdown audios after wondering for years if anyone had recorded them Thank you sooo much. I was there .. it was unearthly... unreal.. now hearing them again they are as amazing, spine-chilling as I remembered, maybe moreso.. the word stunning is overused- not for these performances; Jeff's spirit, his gift, whatever it was that allowed him to channel such fearsome beauty was/is shocking. It reminds me what is is to be in the presence of radical presence.

It's official: I want Siouxsie to cover this acoustic version of "Grace" for her next album. Sioux's ghostly, emotive, exotic voice could do this great justice...on this song, his voice reminds me a lot of her stylings. I remember her remarking how she believed she was truly a songwriter when she found out that Jeff Buckley had did a cover of (hers and Budgie's) The Creatures' (1989) song, "Killing Time". One good tribute deserves another. It seems the Meltdown Festivals are just good witchery.
