    i wanna start by saying you are soo useful, i'm aspiring to become a doctor just like you but was very weary about literally everything.i mean honestly every you research people always say don't study medicine and it rly PUT ME DOWN soo i wanna say that ur very realistic and that i'm glad you popped up on my recommended. I wanted to ask if you went to uni straight from sixth form or you took a gap year? and regarding your work experience was it hard to find them and what techniques did you use to help you get them? Thank You and keep up the content xx

      Xx Jasmine Xx you are the sweetest, your comment really made my day! I went to university straight from sixth from, and I got the majority of my work experience through my school - by talking to the careers advisor and also researching local volunteering opportunities via school or using google. good luck with everything, if you’re passionate and committed then you’re already half way to becoming a doctor! ❤️🦋

    Can't thank you enough for uploading this video, I'm currently trying to decide on what unis I want to apply to in October and i'm soooo stuck as to what to put as my 4th option. I'm from Northern Ireland and I can't get into queens Belfast so it's super scary for me especially when I can't even get to open days or anything because of Rona. So far I've decided I want to apply to Glasgow, Leicester and Newcastle but I haven't the best GCSEs so hoping I get a decent UCAT ://

      Hey Ellen! Picking medical schools can be tricky, it certainly was for me! I used this medic portal website to help, it allows you to compare medical schools based on entry requirements: www.themedicportal.com/application-guide/choosing-a-medical-school/comparisontool/ I’d also suggest looking at online medical school prospectuses/ CZcams videos made by current students to get a little bit more of an insight about the medical schools!
      Hope this helps! Stay tuned as I’ll be posting more videos on each stage of the medical school application! 💜

Honestly try not to let this self-isolation get you down, try learning any new skills you‘ve been wanting to try (whether it’s an instrument, practicing driving theory, working out or becoming more flexible, reading books, art). Also, I promise you the lockdown won’t last forever and I am sure we’ll be able to do lots of fun things this summer! • @AymaraAnahi
      @AymaraAnahi  Před 4 lety +2

      Sophie Leach hi Sophie, obviously this changes from person to person (depending how long it takes you to get through the content each week), whether you want to get involved in sports, or how much you will socialise with friends. I’d suggest if you are going to have a part-time job that it is quite flexible, such as doing deliveries (via deliveroo), tutoring or something based online. This is because the workload can change drastically from week to week and it may be difficult to get out of doing shifts etc if you have more strict working hours. I think it’s better to not get a part-time job during term time to be able to focus on studies and to leave enough time to yourself to rest and have fun (so you’re less likely to burn out!) ❤️

      Ríoghnach Barlow hi ríoghnach! I stayed at Raleigh park. I liked that it is set up as flats (so you have a shared kitchen/living room etc with your flatmates), and it’s also close to a supermarket and gym. However, it’s quite separated from the main campus so you don’t get the same campus feel to it. Hope this helps! Good luck with everything :)

      Yasmin Faris of course it’s difficult - but you learn to adapt your life around it, and the most difficult thing is to achieve a BALANCE (which is possible!). and yes I do have plenty of time for a social life, and i have plenty of time to go out with my friends on the weekend, see them in the evenings after I’ve finished my work, but also to do work related activities with them such as going to the library (or gym!) ❤️

    Hi! I'm an Indian currently doing my A-levels (CAIE) and will be applying to medical schools in the UK next year. I'm having a hard time finding work to do. It's very rare to find clinical related work for high school students here. Will it be a big issue when I apply? Thank you for your videos. They are extremely helpful.

    • @AymaraAnahi
      @AymaraAnahi  Před 4 lety

      Aleena Vinu Hi Aleena, do not worry too much specifically about getting work experience in a clinical setting, as it is very hard to do unless you have specific connections. I’d say perhaps ask your school for contacts to any doctors, or try to look up any programmes targeted at students in hospitals etc. If this doesn’t work out, any voluntary experience in a caring environment is extremely useful, such as a care home or a school. That is the priority - not so much clinical experience.
