I wonder if that is the only real noticeable difference here from Jaunpuri, as I cannot point to any other significant difference otherwise. Some texts claim one variant of Gandhari has both the Rishab notes, and another which has both the dhaivat notes, but that is not the case here.
My ears aren't adept enough at the Asavaris to decipher the subtle difference between this Gandhari and Jaunpuri either. But what I did notice was that there is less frequent use of the m P D N S (as compared to the Jaipur-Atrauli Jaunpuri). This Gandhari by Ustad Mushtaq Hussain Khan of the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana too is a similar Gandhari with just one rishaba - www.parrikar.org/music/asavari/mhk_gandhari.mp3
Right , even asavari is also there , difficult to differentiate between these three ( asavari, jaunpuri and gandhari )" Sam prakritik " raagaas as many times m , p, dha , sa is also there.
