I really wish you would have given an example of a plan, and an example list of outcomes, that would help me 10x more. I need real-world examples so I understand it fully.
great vid Ryan. 100% agree with your advice. Most of the time clients need to be "educated" on how they could use you / your skills to help them. The clients won't know or be able to connect the dots on how video content could help them achieve their own goals.
Great advice! You are wise beyond your years, Ryan. I've made that mistake in varying degrees several times. It can definitely ruin an opportunity; plus, it can be pretty embarrassing! It's a lot easier to modify a specific planned outcome than it is to spontaneously create one in a high pressure situation. Enjoying your channel; keep up the great work!
Back when I started a consultant told me “Setz dich immer einmal auf den anderen Stuhl“ what’s German saying for “put yourself in the position of your opposite“. And that tip was so damn good. These people offer you their time, so don’t waste it. If you deliver them something that they can touch in their mind you’re pretty close to get the deal. Good video!
Thanks for this! Perfect timing. I’ve been doing freelance video work for the past 6 years. Am currently emailing the marketing director of a dream client and your insight will help me be prepared present a cohesive plan.
Great information Ryan. I appreciate the way you break things down. How do you go about researching what a potential client has done in past video productions to come up with a plan to do a different video production, and/or content approach?
Great Video. I'm curious, how did you reach out to these companies? I mean the initial contact. I'm currently working on a proposal so I can also start reaching out to some real estate agencies in my area. I have everything you've mentioned in this video clearly spelled out in the proposal but I have not initiated contact with the companies yet, I have done some research on the companies as to what they have, need, and could use in terms of my services. I'm hoping to cold call them and send them emails with my proposal. I'd love to know how you went about reaching out to this companies and getting them to approve a meeting as well as any tips and guidance you can offer. Thank You
