Kacper Chamerski The locust were originally people infected then captured and studied by scientists who then abandoned the project. The locust lived underground and mutated even more over time.

@@alanway5 well it was explained that he was working on it for most if not all of the orginal trilogy. So while I agree it was an asspull at least they tried to explain it
The same person that wrote gow 2 and 3 also wrote a series of novels exploring the world better. GoW has a great lore.
If u didnt know GoW lore went so deep u either didn't play it or u slept through it.

Gears 1 is in my top 10 games. The story was amazing and the multiplayer was genre changing
salsonwheels couldn’t agree more. Being able to get someone with the chainsaw in multiplayer was a true challenge.

There is one thing you missed, Myrrah and her locusts were not the first, or only, locust. The Rise of Raam comic series confirmed that the locust civilization had existed for tens or even hundreds of thousands of years before E-Day. Something to do with ancient nomadic humans getting trapped in the hollow by a landslide or some such.
Hence the massive underground cities made completely of stone, which would have taken centuries to build at least.

Just so you know: Leviathans existed before Imulsion contaminated the oceans of Sera. Lambent Leviathans released polyps whenever injures. But other than that, AWESOME video!
The Lambent Wretches from Gear of War 1 scared the shit out of me when I first fought them. The Locust fighting each other in Gears of War 2 confused me. Then the former scared the shit out of me again in Gears of War 3.
The Locust and Lambent are an allegory of how we create our own monsters...

@@thenerdyweeb4899 no she’s a full human. The locust are a cross between her DNA and the DNA of the Sires who are a cross between humans infected with Imulsion and indigenous creatures of the Hollow.
I am glad that you finally did another Gears of War explain this is my favorite channel to go to with lore.
I really like these longer episodes with tons of backstory and lore
So basically the war between the Locust and Humans was basically the Locust trying to survive from a threat greater than tye humans, and they were forced to declare war just to relocate.
If Imulsion peaked your interest, I think it'd be great to see the X Parasite from the Metroid series covered too! It actually works very similarly to Imulsion in a number of ways that i think you may find fascinating
I wish Gears 4 & 5 were darker like the original trilogy.
EPIC Games went hard before they sold the rights to Gears & then made Fortnite.
Sera has recovered from the Locust War. The ruined hellscape we were familiar with no longer exists, and that’s not a bad thing.

For the longest time, I once thought the Locust were the original denizens of the planet, and the Humans were ruining it by being blatantly stupid with pollution and whatnot, and that's how the Human-Locust War started: i.e. the Locust wanted to keep their planet from dying. But after (recently: as in before the release of Gears 5) digging into the lore, I was dead wrong. And Gears 5 helped to confirm all that. Blew my mind. Never once thought the Imulsion was a parasite attempting to mutate humans, minus the Imulsed Humans in Gears of War 3, (I knew if affected Locust because of the first 2 Gears of War games, and gave Humans Rust Lung. Thought it was usually fatal), and Genetic Engineering helped that mutation evolve further. Deeper Lore than I originally thought. That's coming from a long time fan of the Franchise.

GoW was one of those game series that defined a huge part of my childhood. I played through them with my brother so many times
Now I fully understand why Myre, the most human-looking person among the locust, was the queen of said locust who like if rocks has flesh instead stone

I'd love to see you cover Phazon from the Metroid series. It's basically Super Imulsion on steroids, especially if you take into account what Metroid lore says that Phazon can do that we don't explicitly see in gameplay.

You know, I had always been a fan of this game series but never looked into the deep lore. I even stopped keeping track after gears 4 was released. I never even knew there was a pendulum wars mission. I didn't know Niles created the locusts, I only knew he created scions. I realized the queen was once a normal human thanks to gears 4. You really opened my eyes with this video. I might go get gears 5 now
I want to ask about anything for bloodborne but it goes insanely deep. Can't think of another game so well thought out and lore filled. Honestly can't.
