    50 years old and still relevant. Now that's a sign of great engineering.

    Greece🇬🇷 is also upgrading 82 of its f-16s from block 52+ to block 72. So far, up to 20 aircraft have been modernized, and there is a possibility of additionally upgrading another 38 block 50s to block 70 in the future. I would like to add that a percentage of f-16s and c-130s fuselage is manufactured in hai (ΕΑΒ) in Greece.

    not inducting the F-16V Fighting Falcon (Block 70) multi role all weather fighter in the USAF is a big mistake . . .

      Cheaper research and development for the US trust me we’ll have the upgrades in our fleet

      Why? F-35 is better than the F-16 in every aspect except dogfighting.

      I agree to a certain point. But the US, even with its massive defense budget, can’t buy everything. F-35s. F-15EX Eagle IIs, F/A-18 Block IIIs. B-21s. Eventually, the NGAD winner. Lastly, it’s been widely reported that any current F-16s rot in service will undergo upgrades that are akin to Block 70 capabilities.
      “Mistakes” can be said about the USAF not selecting the YF-23, F-16XL Supersnake, F-15 Silent Eagle, etc.

    • @CentralStateMower
      @CentralStateMower Před 15 dny

      Agreed, the US needs to leverage foreign investment in the F-16V upgrades much like they are doing with the F-15EX. Let's face it, stealth is super EXPENSIVE and even the US has budget limits. You need stealth aircraft but we can't buy thousands of F-35's, B-21's and NGAD's.

    And Greece upgraded the first one in the USA and the rest are done in Greece domestically. The Block 70 can be upgraded from older Blocks (Greece uses Blk 52+) or buy new.

    Nope, not being built in India. They are actually building them in South Carolina. If India had chosen this model, then yes, they would be built there but they passed. They chose the Rafale instead.

    If we had an intelligent government we would put this into production in the US. Every currently operating F-16 would gradually be replaced with these, beginning with the oldest aircraft in service. These would fly behind the F-35 and engage targets as the F-35 detected them.

    • @shenmisheshou7002
      @shenmisheshou7002 Před měsícem +1

      The reality is that the F-35 is soaking up most of the defense budget, and the Air Force is desperate for the NGAD. They know the F-22 and F-35 are not sufficient to do the job because the latest VHF radars can see them coming from as much as 150 miles away. The NGAD will get rid of the vertical and horizontal stabilizers, which is what allows the VHF radars to see them. The VHF radars can't lock on them but they can get range, bearing, and altitude, which is all they need to get to vector fighters in for a side or rear intercept, where the F-35 and F-22 are most vulnerable. The F-35 program is so expensive that the AF is cutting the number of average hours the F-35 can fly from something like 240 hours a year to 180 hours per year. Pilots are upset and leaving at the end of their contracts because they need to build hours faster than this so they can get out at the end of the contract and get a job with a commercial airliner. They are leaving to go to FedEx and UPS flying reginal planes to pick up packages. This is the path that civilian pilots take because you can build hours pretty fast.

      @ernestkj Před 10 dny

      The design is 50 years old and Russia has probably know how it works and being build so it wasn't a big secret anymore. I believe the essential components or new features are still held tightly with the US suppliers while the frame and assembly is made by India and their suppliers.

    I don't see how adding those ugly ass tanks can increase aerodynamics, unless they mean because they can avoid carrying the drop tanks. Of course, I am not an aerospace engineer so what do I know. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last night, but it didn't help much. Anyway, I do know it takes away from the normal streamlined beauty of the F16. On a serious note, I wonder how those tanks and that extra fuel weight on the top of the plane affects balance during combat maneuvers. I assume the plane has to feel different.

    As a American 🇺🇸 I’m glad India 🇮🇳 is taking the F16 to new heights. Especially when you consider its enemy’s Pakistan and China rely on the JF17 as there primary. I pity any adversary who runs into a group of this rep if the Rafael are with them.

    Whether you produce it in india or Vietnam, the truth is and will always remain that no country is interested in any American plane, and the sooner you learn it the better. Be it block 72 or 92 the world is fed up with your production. Maybe the Hindus can buy it just for the sake of buying it but there are better and more advanced fighter jets out there for sale. So just stop fooling ppl that your aeging planes can still be in the market. Period!!!

      JF-17, Gripen NG, J-11, Tejas etc.. all alternatives to F-16 and they're all in same class as F-16. Block 70/72 is going to be the last line. India won't be producing F-16V aka F-21 for India as they'll focus on Tejas fighters. U.S won't be buying any F-16 so are S.Korea and Netherlands instead they're upgrading to F-16V level to keep their fleet operation until 2040s. Only countries like Taiwan, Turkey and these countries mentioned from video clip have ordered extra F-16Vs from Lockheed Martin Coz they have many older variants of F-16 cannot be upgrade to Block 70 level and cannot buy F-35 or other 4.5th gen fighters which is more expensive than F-16V. US also doesn't sell F-16V upgrade kits unless the customer has a certain number of fleets in operation. Just a handful of old F-16 won't able to order upgrade kits.
