- Henna-a natural dye that temporarily stains the skin- has been creating exquisitely beautiful artwork on the human body for centuries. If you love it like I do, it’s also an exciting and sensible direction for a face painter to branch out. While it takes a lifetime to master, it only takes an afternoon to start!
If you like this short introduction, I would love for you to take my hour-long ‘Confident Henna from Start to Finish’ class on Skillshare: www.skillshare.com/classes/Co...

It is really interesting to know someone from a western culture loving Henna that is a traditional art from India. I just loved your video...very inspiring!
I am so happy to hear it!
I am doing it right now lol
It is an east Asia thing, A lot if countries do this including Pakistan! But you are correct!!
Lol, Henna represents lot cultures. I’m west African and it’s tradition for us to do it during weddings and holidays.
It’s not from India.......😅
Thanks so much now i can surprise my mom when it is EID
I want to surprise my mom when it is Eid too every Eid my cousins do my henna design but now she get married so this video is very helpful for me

It’s inspiring to see your passion...I’m and Indian living in the Middle East. Indian designs are fuller and more traditional...it’s called “mehendi” and in the Middle East they do such designs the one you showed. I love henna so much..it’s so beautiful and smells so nice as well! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Hera, thanks for your kind comments!
I know about the smell... lol people find it really strong, but I actually enjoy the smell.... my old neighbors used to joke that I was from India in my past life....lol I kinda really enjoy the culture. It's so vibrant & colorful. Just such a beautiful culture with amazing people. I've always wanted to visit but could NEVER afford it..
@Simran Verma don't be scared, just do what comes to mind. You'll do awesome. Practice makes prefect tho. Keep it up, you'll do awesome. Sorry, I know this was meant for the person who posted the video, but I think it's awesome you're learning mehndi.
@Simran Verma that's awesome. It gets easier trust me. If I were able to post a picture in the comments here of the first time I did mehndi & how I do it now, it's night & day. I practiced on my legs, hands, feet, my daughters hands....lol but, it's paying off, I'm not the greatest yet but I'm getting better everytime & my confidence grows when I try a new design. You'll get better each time you do more. Just practice, practice, practice.
So u speak Tamil?? If u do I too speak Tamil
I'm a cake decorator that just got my first Henna kit and I just want to say, this is a lot like piping on a cake💜. if you ever need to practice get some buttercream and just practice with that so you're not wasting your henna🤎 it's about the same consistency 😘also thanks so much for the informative video I'm so excited to get started on my new hobby 🖤🤎♥️
Thanks for the tips! YOU will love it! Henna decor on cakes is beautiful too.
Thanks, this was really helpfully to be confirmed. I like cake decorating a lot and I was curious if henna has a similar feel because it seems similar from the overall texture and density. Thanks 😊!
I was going to make the same comment regarding the similarity to cake decorating. In addition to cake, I decorate cookies. Henna will be another way to create.
You can use lotion cream
Thank you so much , now I can do my henna for Ramadan !
You are welcome 😊
Yes samee
Uhm ive never heard of people doing henna for ramadhan but I've heard people do it for Eid
Sameee!
@@turkish_filmz well some people like to put it on all month
So, I volunteered to do henna art at post prom at my son's high school. I've only ever done traditional face painting, but I'm crafty and figured I would give it a try. Yours is the first video I've watched, and I'm so completely confident I can do this now! You have such enthusiasm and your teaching style is awesome. Thank you!
That is awesome!
EID MUBARAK!! everyone
I used to get henna when I was a child and I have always loved it and thought it was so beautiful. Recently I decided to buy some henna and give it a whirl. My first attempt was okay, wasn’t perfect so I thought I’d try again today and I followed your video and I love what I’ve created. I attempted to mimic the first design you did with the flower and I’ve added afew extra dots and lines around the outside to make it fit my hand and I’m obsessed!! I wish I could leave a picture to show you. It’s not perfect but it’s a second attempt and practice makes perfect. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
Lauren, I am so glad!!!
Literally nobody:
My trembling hand: Nope
SAME, I ligit can't draw any henna becuz my hand is sooo unsteady TwT
Because you want it perfect design for the first time. Try try try and you will have little control and more control over time. I am. Same as you but feeling much better with now. I think i have more control on my shaky hands
Lara! You never cease to amaze me. My niece's mother who has reverted to Islam said that I should get into henna since I'm a "jack of all trades". You've introduced me to the world of henna now and you made it look so easy. Thank you for this very helpful video! I look forward to practicing. The other commenter said to practice with buttercream...I agree since you don't want to waste money until you're ready. Henna is very much like decorating cakes and cookies. I do not envy cookie decorators they are tough!
lol you know u can’t ‘transition into being muslim’ it’s called ‘reverting to Islam’ thanks
@@anu2144 Thank you for the correction
Just got my first henna tattoo today and I’m obsessed! I let the artist pick the design and she chose one based on what my energy and skin was telling her. When she asked me what color glitter I did the same, let her decide. It came out so beautifully.
This is the best tutorial so far I am a 14 year old girl has always been interested in doing Henna on myself since I was eight and watching this tutorial is probably the best thing that could ever do. I bought 24 cones off the Amazon and now I am officially in love. Thank you for teaching me the basics.
So happy to help.
I started doing henna on myself 2 weeks ago I love it!!!
Yay! Congratulations!!

Where do you buy your henna from?
I've always wanted to try henna and now I'm going to!
DO IT!!! you won't regret it! It can be intimidating to try something new- don't let that motivation energy escape.
I'm so excited to show my love through henna tattoo Art. Thank you for your videos
I’m not gonna lie. This girl gives the BEST tips everrrr! So thank you. My mom knows henna but doesn’t know a design so this was just what I needed. Once again, thank you
You are so welcome! Thanks for your sweet comment!
Thank you so much. I have face painted for years but love henna and want to do it so badly. You are the 1st person that makes me feel like I can!
Even using a mirror is good to practice on, I just started and thanks to you I can do a basic design ✨️
OMG I MADE MY OWN DESIGN IT TURNED OUT SO BEAUTIFUL THANKS FOR YOUR TIPS!!
you're the sweetest nicest person...Thank you for an inspiring encouraging video. I really think I can have a go and do ok now! Cheers, Jeannie

im doing my first design on me rn and it looks so good, this tutorial is so helpful
Ive been practicing Henna for sometime and I appreciate you breaking this down. Thank you
This is just AWSOME! My cousins Mendhi (a cultural event when people get married) is coming up and I wanted to do the Mendhi (henna) for the little kids! I already have a back-round with henna since it is very cultural to my family. This helped a lot thank you so much!
Anaya, congrats to your cousins! And good luck to you.
Tdd
Mendhi is not a cultural event! Mendhi means the practice of painting designs on the hands, feet, etc using henna.
you just saved my life, I'm helping teach a henna workshop in a few weeks and I've never done it before! I decorate cakes all the time so hopefully it turns out well! Haven't even gotten a cone yet but I'll definitely be covered by the end of the month haha
Thank you SOOOOOOOOOO much for this!!!!!!!!!!! Like for real for real... if anyone could teach us henna... it would be you.... I could cry right now!!! A good cry ..
I am so glad!!! Let me know how it goes for you!

Thank you. I have henna sitting here waiting to b used but haven’t touched it. I’m going to try your simple (not really to me but...) hand design u did. Not sure the quality. I hope it’s good. I did not know what I was doing when I bought it last September or possibly earlier. Anyway, after I do another project I’ve been putting off I’ll try the henna design and try to post it somewhere for u to see. Fairy Fox, I truly want to thank you for your kind, learning videos and just you being you. It does show thru!!! I am ever so grateful I found your CZcams videos. Keep up the great work and to all your followers the same. Stay safe everyone XO
Awesome! I am loving having the time to get those to do projects done! I am half way through a project I have wanted to finish for ever. There are a few perks to staying home all the time!

Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so very much. I started doing my own mehndi because the first lady who was doing it for me got a new job & when covid hit, we couldn't see her anymore. Then, my old downstairs neighbors sister was doing it for me but, she was in school so was rarely around & I figured, if I want to have mehndi done on a regular basis, (which I do) I may as well learn how to do it myself. I did, but I'm not that great at coming up with designs. I'm working on the flower petals but I can't ever get them to be the same size....lol but, nature isn't prefect, neither am I so, why should my mehndi be absolutely perfect. I'm really good at the actual mehndi, just coming up with designs that I feel I can do is the hard part so, thank you so very much for creating these videos. You're amazing. P.S, I really like the design on your hand. It's so pretty.
Am going to put Henna by myself on Diwali.... Thankyou for this...
Absolutely beautiful😍
I'm a high school artist from Armenia and I just bought henna, can't wait to try it!
