- Legendary Scottish fiddle, Alasdair Fraser plays "Grand Etang / Hull's Reel" with Natalie Haas on cello live on Archie Fisher's Travelling Folk, at Pacific Quay Thursday 21st January 2010.
Alisdair lives in my tiny hometown and will sometimes play at our little Celtic festival and it's the greatest thing ever. He's so friendly and kind.
Very enjoyable performance.
Wonderful music. The fiddle and the cello were made for each other!!
Not only do they put on magnificent performances like this, they put a great deal of effort into sharing the “tricks” of their trade in their wonderful teaching workshops.
Thankyou-just got recommended to you-by a famous violinist and old classmate-wonderful!
Thank you and thanks to John Morris Rankin.
Howie Mac Donald composed this I believe.
Fantastic musicians and wonderful entertainers! Just saw them live at the National Library of Australia as part of the National Folk Festival 2013!
I love their playing, individually and as a duo. Sensitive and dynamic, every note in its place with no wasted motion. Great arrangements as well.
Gorgeous music.
On screen, or in person, these two are such a delight to watch and listen to. My mentors. I've listened to Alasdair for 20 years, and Natalie for the last 5+. I aspire.. they inspire. :) Wish I could sit in a room with them both, with a piano, my fiddle, cello, a hand drum, and just play.
This week, 300 someodd lucky and talented individuals get to do more or less something very much like this under the redwoods at Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddle School up in the Santa Cruz mountains. During the day, folks learn tunes and elements of style and musicianship, at night the jams go on into the early AM sometimes even next to Alasdair and Natalie themselves.
I love it, so Record it already and give us another album you two!
Absolutely golden
Got this video from Alasdair's site - glad I did. I'll be the first to own their new album!
How is possible to be that good!
She can play everything he can and then some!
I love the haunting tones of celtic music.
I guess I’m the 180,001 st person to view this video! 🎉

sólo se puede decir una cosa: GRACIAS!! casi dan ganas de creer en Dios para poder agradecérselo! pero no, os lo agradezco a vosotros: Alasdair y Natalie!!!!

I'm on the Arts Commission for Kent, Washington. Alasdair and Natalie played for us about two weeks ago, and I was lucky enough to be there. This is fairly representative of how well they play.
+Hal O'Brien They're playing in Port Townsend, Washington this weekend at Fort Worden State Park. Looking forward to a brilliant and stirring performance.
