its so cool how in america that this type of genre in music is normal to us, even the ‘bury a friend’ music video might be found as normal here. but in korea it’s so different. they find it scary, and weird. and even one of the girls said that it would be hard for ‘bury a friend’ to popular or in the charts of korea. our cultures are very different.

1. they don’t always sing cute, for example, take a look at jessi. a korean american solo artist in korea. she swears in her songs. she doesn’t really act cute most of the time. she is a rapper with SWAGGG. she acts sexy, and usually if a girl just rubbed her chest in a dance that would get banned.
2. jennie and kai dated and not everyone attacked them. some people liked it. some people hated it. some people were just in the middle. not everyone will attack idols if they date,
3. korean and american culture is different. usually what i see is that koreans like to hide some of their feelings so that no one really has to worry for them (but not all). idols are usually like this, and some have come out and shown their feelings to the world, but some are still in hiding their feelings. i feel like in america people like to be free and happy, and like to express it through music or art. korean idols usually have to hide a lot of things because their company tells them to. but some companies give some of their idols freedom a bit more than others.
so ye. i’m not korean but i’ve loved korean culture for a while now and these are just what i see.

It's so interesting to see how they react to Billie's lyrics and music videos and her age considering depression is a topic scarcely talked about in Korea mainstream society especially music, nonetheless the fact that kids and teenagers can have depression and be suicidal.
I think they're just amazed how Billie brings her depression in to masterpieces... while a lot of teenagers who are in the same situation do suicidal behavior

Um Boy Story which are like 15 and to the ages of 12 produce their own songs. One of them is 12 and he can produce. She is good at poetry and puts her feelings into that poetry. I'm NOT offended but just because she is depressed doesnt mean anything, she and her brother have a very good talent.
depression doesn't mean poetry. her parents had to train her to write lyrics and she had depression before but didn't know how to write music. so no it's not because of depression, it's because she was taught and she put her feelings into it

Billie is a strong woman with issues that everyone lives with. Shes intelligent, funny, and very philosophical do to what she experiences. Majority of her song are very metaphorical which many love. She describes every bit emotion and complexity she feels. Her artistship is very defined by her lyrics and prefered singing style. Bellie is truely once of a kind of person and music artist.

I like how they express their thoughts and opinions about Billie. Their words are very wise and mature.
Depression and mental illnesses don’t discriminate, and Billie has suffered from depression in the past; that’s why her songs and lyrics tend to be very mature and have a dark edge to them. Depression and other mental illnesses take you to dark places emotionally and mentally, and if you’re a musician or another type of artist of any kind, that mental and emotional turmoil will come out in your artistry.
But these two lovely young ladies were very nice and open-minded (at least in my opinion) about experiencing some of America’s culture. Thank you very much. 💜

A bit, yeah. Although laws are being passed to change this and some music artists are being vocal about mental health, having a mental illness on your record might make it harder for you to get a good job as a regular citizen. It's really saddening, because Korea has one of the highest suicide rates in the world.

The first one is about a friend of hers who died, the second is from the perspective of a serial killer, and the third is about dark thoughts, not wanting to be herself. The fourth is about feeling alone or trapped. So Billie Eilish and her brother do write, direct and obviously she stars in it. It's all just two people.
