This is one of my favourite perfumes as well. I’m nearing the end of my second bottle. I agree with the juxtapositions with this one because it starts off “cold” then turns warm and powdery. It’s magical and I love it.
Lolita is such a popular fragrance in France. It really is so unique and when someone is wearing it. You know it ! It’s so good. I’ve owned several bottles and I’m itching to buy myself another bottle again!
It’s actually pronounced Lolita LemPEEKa. I worked for Neiman Marcus where it was one of the places it was sold at. That’s the only way I’d know how to pronounce it. It was and still is my favorite perfume.
Yes. I’ve heard that before. Makes sense. It’s the way I’d pronounce it in Spanish too but I’ve been saying that way for so long it’s habit at this point.
I have 300 perfumes, and this is my all-time favorite! I used to almost feel bad, because it’s not expensive, and you rarely even hear about it, but I absolutely love this perfume so much! I have for many many years! So happy to find you!
Thanks for this lovely Lolita Lempicka evolution, it's such a shame that the brand couldn't replicate that original formula. I have a 2013 bottle which i use sparingly. I always preferred the EDT version but that's almost impossible to buy now. The original bottles are so beautiful and iconic, so I'm glad they have brought that back. Just a huge shame the scent lacks its depth. Loved the out-takes 🤣🤣

Angel is nothing like Lolita. I have today managed to get a new bottle of supposedly original EDP and I'm so excited. I first smelt this walking past a chemist and I fell in love with it. It's very special.

Your eloquent descriptions were like a satifying in-person discussion, your love for it is like my own, I have not had a bottle since 2005 and have been looking to repurchase it for about three years now. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience publicly as I found them useful and very agreeable, I know exactly what you mean and have been hoping to find that same "dark and light" scent once again. Your recommendation to try it out despite the reformulation is encouarging and I will soom visit a supplier though please let me know if there is any way to find the original, anyone reading this please feel free to give me some pointers as to where I may find a stockist. I know finding discontinued perfumes is incredibly difficult and mostly impossible but I thought I'd throw it out there for any of you lovely beings to catch. Beautiful video presented by a lovely composure, you make me want to chat about these scents more and I could listen to so much more, too!
Hi I may be too late but I’d love to smell an older version of Lolita Lempicka. I really love the version I have and picked out the anise and violet right away, however I am totally intrigued by the idea of heavier ivy or more deep darker notes with this - I’ve tried layering with cedar, Jasmine and even Amber and pepper and it really does change each time and and shows another pretty version of itself
i blind bought LL about three years ago. it is my signature scent since end yes it's a MASTERPIECE. they by accident scent me mon premier version and i fell in love regardless. then i bought one in a original bottle and yes its better for sure however somehow mon premier one has better longevity on me. i didn't knew about le parfum and i am sooooo happy it's in an old bottle. that bottle is masterpiece on it's own :D
Omg!!! I’m just seeing this now because my mom just told me she got a bottle and I noticed it looked like the original. Like you, it was my first “favorite” fragrance. Early 2000s is when I discovered it. Then stopped purchasing when they changed the formula. I am not done watch the video…but if the OG is back I can not tell you how excited I would be.
I have an old bottle from Pacific Creations that is probably as old as yours. I remember wearing LL with glee when she was first released. Companies now certainly know how to word their marketing material carefully - following an old formula doesn’t even mean they use the same ratios and modern ingredients and accords would not be the same either. Living in the tropics means I save my precious bottle for cooler evenings - so she will last me longer 🥲
What a great breakdown of the LL perfumes. I had to check my bottle, it’s a pacific creation sticker on the bottom. I think of this one as one of the more interesting perfumes in my collection, its that depth that draws me in. Its a real bummer that they changed it so much over the years. I’d love to try the samples.

I was so disappointed when I found out the new version has more of a powder smell than a spicey smell. The licorice just doesn't come through. I used to get compliments all the time when I wore it not knowing the smell of licorice is an aphrodisiac. Now I know to look for the older version
My neighbor in grad school walked past me and I accosted her demanding to know what perfume she was wearing. I bought LL the next day and it’s been my signature scent ever since - this was in 2000-2001. I’m heartbroken at how much they’ve changed the formula. My last backup bottle (2010 version) is running out and I really hope I can find something I love just as much!
I have the 2017 version. It smells like baby powder but nice. Dillard's is bringing back the new 'old bottle' version to the U.S next month. I've never smelled the original but I would want to get my hands on the apple bottle someday.
The original was perfection. I miss it so much. The reformulation was an unexpected terrible disappointment. I will check out the latest version thanks to your video. Thank you for taking the time.

I’m happy to see someone else who likes this as much as I do. I don’t use any perfumes anymore, with the big exception of this one. Most perfumes are migraine triggers for me. But not our beloved Lolita Lempicka 😁💜
Each bottle I have gotten over the years has smelled slightly different but I never thought that they changed the formula. My most recent purchase was my least favorite- ans after I watched your video- it is the cherry notes! I miss the deep "chocolate" hints. I ordered from the Lolita website and am hoping they'll ship it.
Angel by Mugler? Not a chance. I don't get that comparison at all. The closest thing to Lolita Lempicka is Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire. Anyone who thinks Angel is anywhere close to Lolita Lempicka has something wrong with their nose lol

Thank you for this video.. I have worn LL for a good part of 20 years now. It's 1 of 2 signature scents in my case. (Second being Angel - not comparable in any way imo) I have always wondered why my last bottle smelled weird. I returned it thinking they sold me a bad one (I couldn't figure out what the scent was but you described it right... medicinal cherry ) I then scoured all stores for testers of the good old stuff. I am now down to my last bottle :I I hope they come up with the actual original... Or maybe you can find a way to get the company to do so.... I'd definitely sign that petition. Cheers ☺️
A great very close very affordable alternative if you can’t find the original is Blue Water Fragrances on Etsy Lolita L type. It’s very close to the original to my nose.

Ebay seems to have some 3.4oz, but that size always expires before I can finish it 😔 Such a bummer. Thanks for the video! I think I will not re-buy since you said they aren't the same.

I had a sample of the earlier version, LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. However, I received a bottle not knowing it’s the mon premiere version and I’m so sad that it smells almost nothing alike, found it kinda sickly. Sad that the scent is now long gone 😩
The name is definitely a tongue twister, but I -think- it's originally Polish* and possibly pronounced "lem-PEEZ-ka" (an "s" for the "c" in Lempicka), but most people pronounce it "lem-PEE-ka" (kind of Spanish-sounding), instead of "lem-PICK-a". *Lolita and her family is based in France, as you said. 😉
I miss my parfum "Si Lolita". Since it was a huge success, I don't understand why they don't produce it anymore. It can become like No 5 from Channel, timeless.
I bought this last year, hoping to enjoy once again, what I smelled back in the 90's. I was so disappointed. This 2021 version smells exactly like the refumalate version. I stop purchasing it after I started smelling a roach spray sent to it. The orginal smell soft, warm, with a sent of violet that lingered in the air for hours, In a good way.
I really don't see the Angel and Lempicka similarity either. Maybe the ethyl maltol in the air, but not the whole composition. But wait...so the original had endocrine disruptors?? That explains a lot! 🤪
Hello Lola: I just had to pull out my bottle. My bottle was manufactured in 2016. I soooo want to enjoy this fragrance. I have tried, and especially because I know how you describe it.... sounds like I would too. I wish I could get my nose of the 1997 formulation. Great review!

Would you say the 2021 Le Parfum bottle is blue? the imagery on the Lolita Lempicka website makes it look much more blue than my original bottle of Lolita from the early 2000's which I would consider to be purple.

La Petite Robe Noire edp by Guerlain is somewhat similar to Lolita Lempicka though by no means a dupe. I’ve owned and love both.

Lolita was my signature scent in my late teens ! Loved it ! I fortunately got my hands on a 30 ml original and will use it very sparingly lol !

Yes,it's Polish and in English you would pronounce it something like : "Lempitska" 😉

Would you say the 2021 Le Parfum bottle is blue? the imagery on the Lolita Lempicka website makes it look much more blue than my original bottle of Lolita from the early 2000's which I would consider to be purple.
It is more of a blue than a purple.
