  • Spending too much money and don't know where it went? It's not as easy as restricting yourself (in fact, complete restriction won't work). I have a simple exercise that you can do in this video to get to the ROOT of the problem.

    So insightful! I grew up very poor and my parents didn’t have any money to ever have me play sports, activities, or summer camps. As a 40 year old without children, I now treasure my ability to buy the things I want responsibly.

      If you had children would they be in the same position you once were.

    I was told NO often when I was young. I am overspending all the time.

    Great video! I used to practice retail therapy and it got me in trouble financially more than I'd like to admit. haha But since diving into real therapy, I have been doing a really good job. I don't overspend, and I follow my budget to a t.

    This is good stuff! Thanks ❤️. I put money that I am itching to spend on dumb stuff into my kids’ college fund instead. Diverting funds you would blow on junk into a worthy fund gives you an alternative that you can track and be proud of.

    It's an eye opener to look at how much is being spent on technology that wasn't available 30 years ago.

    I love Target.

  • @allisbookishadventures8260

    I love your ideas in this video. I'll be honest, I have a savings goal that I want to hit for the year of $20,000. Im also really working towards being able to purchase tickets to see Carrie Underwood in Vegas in December. Under no circumstances am I allowing myself to purchase those tickets until I hit my goal. I've got less than $1100 to go. I have enough money set aside in a high yield account to purchase the tickets but buying those will be my reward for doing all of this saving

      I love the system you've built to reward yourself by hitting your goal!

      @@DebtFreeMillennials having that reward system motivates me to prioritize saving because I don't want the tickets to sell out so I need to do this quickly. It puts a urgency on how quickly I need to build up my savings.

    the problem with your idea of grocery shopping is that ralphs is a lot more expensive than Target, it would be best to not go into the other areas of Target, I also noticed that the Walmart by my house no longer has the carry baskets, only carts because a shopper can get more in a cart then a basket, and just start filling it up

    • @livritz101
      @livritz101 Před rokem

      Honestly, that has not been my experience. Target for everything has been the most expensive, I actually will not even shop there unless I have a gift card. Walmart is by far the cheapest for everything. I understand the frustration with not having a basket, however, I usually get soda and other heavy items, therefore, I don’t mind using a cart. In my area we don’t have Ralph’s, but have Safeway which is similar. Yes, it is expensive. But if you get/have a free membership card, you save money by getting the member price. Also I look at the grocery ad and note what is on sale, as well as use digital coupons via their app.

    For salary earners having a passive source of income is the best thing you could have, because aside the the fact that it isn't always enough you could lose your job any day at any time, have something to fall back to is crucial, for me it is trading the Forex and stock market and no I didn't have that much knowledge to begin to earn that's why I said passive income, I leave the profit making to the pro this team favorableminer who has been doing a wonderful job.
