The lime Prime is pretty good. It's kind of like Gatorade but it's a more syrupy

If you use circle hooks the catfish will not get off they will hook their own self and you won't lose as many and I enjoy watching everything that you do you really keep it interesting I have been following you since you was little

They are indeed I've still lost a couple tho. Does that mean I need to go bigger or smaller? I feel like I use a good size hook. The cats are like 21+ inches. Would appreciate the help.
I do like using circle hooks they have the down fall tho I’ve had catfish sit there and take the bait off the hooks they are some smart fish
Bigger i would say if the hook is to small for the fishes mouth it cant wrap around its lip and work how its designed

I am a big jug line fisherman and I have learned to not yank the jugs out super fast
I would just use circle hooks, because once they’re hooked they cannot come off and they self hook. And, I would use smaller hooks, because just like with the bait, big fish will eat both and get hooked by both while small fish cannot eat or get hooked by big baits and hooks. Awesome video tho, I look forward to every 1!
Bait still doesn’t matter to much, I’ve had some pretty small cats eat some big bait
I'm a circle hook 🪝 only catfisherman 😉👌🏻 works the best for them to hook themselves

Video Idea: take the sports drinks and see which one catches the most fish. (Prime vs. Gatorade vs. power aid vs. propel etc)
Have you ever tried soaking your catfish in buttermilk for 3-24 hours? Y’all would dig it. You could even rinse it off and do it with your franks or just use it to bread. It’s amazing and changes the taste a lot. Y’all’s catfish look super clean though so it might not need it

I do a lot of carp and catfishing I always use Kool-Aid for making carp bait and jello and cream corn for making catfish bait with either hot dogs or chicken breast
Another recommendation for a marinade for catfish bait would be Reign energy drinks. They have orange dreamsicle, rainbow sherbet, cherry limeade and many more. I bet those would work well.

Next time reduce the drink by boiling it. It'll boil the water out leaving a thicker more concentrated "syrup" which should be better at flavoring

You should try secert 7 catfish bait but you have to use the bait holders that are made for it they go on the hook and just fill it completely full of the the dough bait it works amazingly

🔥🔥 CIRCLE HOOKS my guy!! The best way to go for catfish, get a decent size and durable hook with a sharp point. Greatly increase your hook up ratio, I use them for sharks and rays here in California also. Once they take the bait, the hook sets in the corner of there mouth every time.

Next time you might want to try getting more of them and reducing them on a stove and make like a syrup. IF you want to take it a step further spread it on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and throw it in the dehydrator and it may be able to turn into a powder if grinded. Just a thought.

Down in Florida catfish come out jus before sunset, so late afternoon or overcast weather that mimics the sun going down is when the catfish get active. Idk if that’s the same for your area but hopefully this helps on the next catfish catch clean cook
Here's what I want to see. Take a couple of flavored drinks and a bottle of water and see which catches the biggest fish. Fish LOVE water! lol.
The jello is a gimmick, plain chicken works just as good. It will save you time ,money, and your hands won’t get as sticky. Great work! Keep it up!

Catfish is by far my favorite fish. We buy 20 pounds of catfish every few months from a friend and we love it.

Just an idea. You should stock flathead in your pond. You could make some great videos at the pond. Stock like 2-3000 pounds of 20-40 pound flat heads.
