What an amazing tribute from someone who has given so much to and gained so much from the entertainment industry to 2 people who equally have contributed so much - Ross D Wylie and of course, Johnny Young. Most people only know Johnny as host of Young Talent Time, without knowing he actually wrote so many classic Aussie hit songs. In doing so, enabling so, so many Australian acts to forge a career and find fame. Without such legends as Johnny, Molly and Tina, our music industry would not be a patch on what it is. Of course, others are in that league as well, that goes without saying.

Her performance of "The Star" puts Ross D. Wylie's version in the shade. Tina Arena = BRILLIANCE PERSONIFIED. When YTT was "rebooted in 2012, Tina was an EXCELLENT choice to be one of the judges. The TRUE cherry on the cake would've been to have another Young Talent Timer, John Bowles as host, Jamie, or brother Derek Redfern as her partner on the judging panel and Greg Mills conducting the orchestra.

@neilforbes416 it took a radio petition to have the YTT reboot to be cancelled as the show was dubbed no talent time

Yes, she is emotional because her friend and mentor Johnny Young, who is shown close up in the audience wrote that song. He played a large part in her early career.

Nothing against Tina but this is an absolute hatchet job on what is a brilliant song that calls for a far more powerful and charismatic delivery than she gives it. Peter Noone (Herman’s Hermits) and Ross D. Wylie nailed it perfectly.

very nice, classy even. but when i digitised my copy of the LP "20 dynamic hits" from 1970, the original Ross D Wyllie version blew me away. Such an emotional song and i'm afraid Ross owns it, nobody else comes close. Good work Tina though.
