the safe itself would've be of some value right?
@@SedatedPigeon Guessing so, without seeing the codes on the back saying which model and year it is I'll never know but antique safes are generally a better price then half of what he pulled out of that unit
Is it possible to open a locked safe without causing damage?
@@Cannibalable yes some safe techs can but I'm sadly not qualified enough for that unlike my mentor. If your trying to open one normally safes have a special place a locksmith can look up and drill out to open the safe with small damage to it and then they patch it back. The content of trying to open the safe that way probs helps get more views, more money .
Quick tip-
If you find a safe from an antique collector/seller and former jeweler. Look up the brand and have it appraised first because the safe itself might be extremely valuable. Most likely not but certainly possible.
The ring would be an excellent gift for the wife. As we all know on this channel, Alex is the unsung hero with her cooking, keeping all these big men we see in the videos well fed. A diamond ring is certainly a good way of saying "thank you".

Hi Eddie, I worked in the jewellery trade for a time and if there were heavy metal boxes with black powder in them I hope you didn't discard that material. Jewellers save the gold filings and silver filings and melt it all down at a later date. The black metal filings could be worth millions of dollars when reworked into gold bars by smelting. Another thing the old jewellery manufacturers would be to cut up the carpet in their factory every 50 years to mine the gold that has collected in it. Good luck, I hope this helps? You have probably already done all of the above? Top container to have purchased.
You can sell the storage container for a few grand as well. Can't believe they would just leave a £1000 vase on the edge of a table lol.

Here in the U.S., a forty in decent, seaworthy shape will easily fetch $4,000 USD, perhaps more depending on location in proximity to a port city or intermodal hub. Worst-case scenario, a scrap/salvage company will give a nice chunk of change for it, but looked to be in nice shape. Cheers!

A professionell would open the Safes without damages… and this would bring you a lot more profit by selling them…
Ye they could be worth quite abit depending on the grade and rarity for sure. Like there is American gold coins worth like 100 -200 grand. Lots of stuff depends on wich year they are from, and how many where acculy minted. Then we got another kind of coin collectors that collect errors and all kinds of shit aswell.
When he said 4 grand for the gold coins, I said yes please!
That old safe, at auction in Canada... approximately $750.00 -$4000.00, and I've seen some blow over the 10k mark. The one I bought started at $150 & ultimately ended up costing me $1700.00.
I sold it for over three times that amount, to a collector in Toronto. She sold it & shipped it to a gentleman in Vancouver, for an undisclosed amount. I suspect it was well over $10,000.00. It wasn't in as good a condition as your safe was.

Stfu about the safe😂
You people are drama queen cry babies
Meh antique safes don't go for a ton of money. Some by famous brands can be a few grand but you'd be looking at less than a grand each if they aren't anything special. The cost of a locksmith to come out and pick them instead of drilling would be fairly pricey since there's not a lot of real safe lockpickers about. Plus, less video content
Just looked it up - They are george titterton safes, nothing special. Similar sized ones from 1900 sell at auction for ~£100 for the smaller one and ~£200 for the larger one

So you thought the knocking of the vase was a setup but believed that the container was an old man's. Been sat for 10 years but looked brand new. Has the normal padlocks but needed 10 metres of additional chain. No dust not mould no rot. Come on its a made for youtube video
It was all staged so obvious
There were some valuable things there that got overlooked. The fact that the old bloke had an eye for quality collectables was a major clue. The Cannondale bicycle is actually worth a lot of money. They're made from high grade carbon fibre and are handcrafted. For these reasons, they're only made in small quantities. The safes were also worth a lot of money. Even if you had drilled out the locks, people would have still payed a lot of money for them and then put in new locking systems. The wooden chairs, going by the design and fittings, are most likely either anitques or been crafted by a cabinet maker french polisher but more likely both. (The top back of the chair runs all the way through to the bottom back legs of the chair and then fitted with metal fixtures for extra reinforcement. They're well made, sturdy and long lasting, probably also made from quality wood.) I'd check the years on all of those coins as well. Also, the container everything came in..worth money in itself..but converted into a donger, they make for an excellent affordable little cabin home or office, that can be moved between locations when needed. :) PS. I love your videos. Keep up the good work. :)

All that dirt appears to be jewelers mat dust. So when a jeweler is refining gold and everything all the gold they shave off usually goes on the floor in front of them and they have a mat so all that dirt could be all pure gold. it just needs to be refined and cleaned.
All that "dirt and dust" in the safe is actually probably meant to go the smelter. Jewelers create a lot of gold dust as they are sawing and filing material, and it is common practice to collect and save that dust to send it to the smelter. That "dirt" can be worth it's weight in gold, literally! Jewelers typically keep rugs under their stations to capture the shavings and then vacuum them up, save what the vacuum collects, and after they have accumulated enough send that and even the carpet itself to the smelter. You can get ounces of precious metal back from stuff that looks like plain dirt.
I was thinking about that with the jewellers glasses when the dirt kept beeping the detector despite no coins being found.
