“Be the Gal”, would be my suggestion for next.
They are absolutely amazing live. 🔥🤘
I second this comment, one of the best live shows I have ever seen
Hanabie are my third favourite in the entire world. They are just so much fun and their riffs are as chunky as any band I've ever heard.
Totally agree with The Suicidal Tendencies reference. Great band and awesome reaction!
What I really want to thank the Japanese rock and metal scene for is bringing joy and humour back into music, like in the 70s and 80s. Music should be fun in every way, not just killer riffs and attitude.
Hanabie started in high school as a tribute band to the music of Maximum the Hormone. So if you want to see where Hanabie got their inspiration from, Maximum the Hormone is an obvious choice. I say you have to experience this band, it's hard to describe what kind of music they play. Maximum the Hormone is a real cult band! I love them to!
I find myself thinking more and more that encountering this particular band in the 2020s probably feels a lot like encountering classic rock and roll in the 1950s. Even though their sound is obviously way more extreme, the way they eschew the metal aesthetics, combined with how chaotic their compositions feel, and how loud and in your face their performances are... A lot of the reactions to Hanabie now are very much like what people would initially say about rock'n'roll in that era.
Such a blast live. Yukina is insane. If you think Japanese crowds are tame, go to one of their shows in Japan.
I'd love to go to one of their shows in Japan
🤘🇺🇦❤️ Hanabie
Yes!!!!
Yes! Suicidal Tendencies. I couldn't put my fimger on it before. Agree that riff throughout is fire.
This song was fun
ありがとう!😆
An English translation of this song is available in the overview section. Since it rhymes in Japanese, the meaning may be a bit lost when translated into English, but please take a look.
I have been a fan of BABYMETAL for almost 10 years. There are other excellent Japanese bands such as BAND-MAID, LOVEBITES, NEMOPHILA, etc., but I believe that 花冷え(Hanabie) will be the second BABYMETAL.
🔥🤘🦊 From🇯🇵
Uhm, no. Babymetal is just a novelty. They're a pop idol group backed up by a metal band. They're "accepted" by Metallica, Slayer, et al because they're cute. Not for anything else. Also, by "accepting" Babymetal, interest in the older bands is being reignited, so it's a win for these established bands to acknowledge them.
@@eatsmylifeYT I think they are way past being a novelty.
@@r1learner178 It's a matter of opinion. You can have yours and I can have mine.

Thank you for your comment!😊
Sorry for the slightly misleading way I wrote it.
By the second BABYMETAL, I meant that they are an artist with Japanese characteristics, which is necessary when Japan's unique musicality spreads to the rest of the world.
BABYMETAL is not a METAL band, but a genre called BABYMETAL. I didn't know that they are selling because they are cute teenage girls singing, not because of their songs or musicality. So there is a culture like Japan's overseas?
The Japanese music market has always been ranked second in the world, and there has always been a tendency to think that it is good enough to sell well in Japan, and until now there have been very few artists who have gone abroad. BABYMETAL's music is not so new in Japan, but a genre that has been around for decades.
Martin Friedman analysed it in the same way. Perhaps the reason why it feels so new is because this kind of music was not available overseas.
I'm not sure if it comes across well because I'm using a translation tool to translate it into English. ・・・・😅
@@eatsmylifeYT Babymetal are not accepted because they're "cute". They're accepted, because "metal" is not as incompatible with "pop" as some people would like to think. There're different ways of getting the music out there and none is any less valid than the other. That being said, Hanabie are fundamentally different from Babymetal because they're a band that plays and - most importantly - writes their own music. They've walked the entire path from zero to hero by continously evolving both their sound and their image while simultaneously managing to remain true to themselves instead of going for cheap theatrics or easy shortcuts. How far they can get is very hard to say, because they're unique in way too many respects, so what the mainstream response is gonna be is still up in the air. It'll be very interesting to see what's going to happen when they appear at the Lollapalooza main stage this summer...
Hanabie = Harajukucore = 🔥🔥🔥🔥 All their MVs are worth watching. Seriously, it’s insane how consistently good they are.
Not a single weak track. Not. One.
I'm going to watch all of them
I believe it
😁🤘
🤘😜🤘
I saw them live, they are awesome 💯🤘, Yukina is about the size of one of my legs, but an absolute beast 💗
That's awesome
Shout out to Suicidal Tendencies! Rocky George is in my personal top 4 guitar influences with Steve Vai, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Alex Skolnick. I was the rare black kid into metal back then, and I was so pumped to see a guy who looked like me doing exactly what I wanted to do. And shredding! Plus he played Ibanez too! Fuh-Ged-About-It! Anyway, Rocky and Trujillo on bass were a kick ass combo. Loved Suicidal. Alao can't forget Infectious Grooves. Way ahead if their time.
Oh,, your taking me back to those incredible days
@@Amiekinz4ever I was at Ohio State in the early to mid 90's and one of my roommates worked at a record store (talk about old!😱) where they'd get comped tickets to shows at the Newport Music Hall (1,500 seat campus venue) as part compensation for promoting shows in the store. I saw so many great bands for free like Soundgarden, Pantera, Slayer, Danzig, Alice In Chains, Suicidal Tendencies, Buddy Guy, Satriani, Smashing Pumpkins, Hip Hop; really just about any act you could think of from that era who'd be playing at a campus venue if a school the size of Ohio State. 200 plus shows easy. Another friend of mine was also a bartender at a place called Stache's which was a dive bar with a stage that held a couple hundred, and my highlight there (though I was too trashed to fully appreciate it at the time) was seeing Nirvana. Imagine watching Nirvana at a dive bar with missing ceiling tiles and one working toilet. It was raw to say the least, lol, but I love the rawness of the"Bleach" album and it's still one of my favorite albums of all time. Columbus had a real cool music scene back then where everyone just loved music and supported each other; whether it was jam sessions, playing metal, grunge, hip hop reggae, folk. Those were some great times!
That sounds like my teenage life
React to stmlt - twilight. Another Japanese female metal band.
Yes, some of the riffs here are straight out of the ST playbook, right when they were very metal-focused.
I love it
This band is a cross between Lady Baby and Maximum the Hormone. Vivid Harajuku Stage Presence and Flat Out Brutal AF Riffs and Breakdowns. Japan has been quite the eye opener for me musically. So many Great artists is so many genres. It never gets old. Enjoy!
I love this band so far. They are cute and fun but also hardcore too
Seeing them for the second time in May, can't wait!
That's exciting
In all my years on this planet, only concert that I loved more than Hanabie's was Band-Maid's. So freaking awesome! Two best concerts I've ever been to.
That's so cool
@@Amiekinz4ever I hope someday you get a chance to see them as well.
I hope so too
That reminds me, i still having a chocolade easter bunny to feast on..
My introduction to hanabie was Raiwa Dating Apps Generenation.
How about to dive deeper. That rabbithole is quite deep.
There is a Group called 鴉-カラス(Crow-Raven) with the Song 神さまの言う通り(As God Says)
An other one is called みんなのこどもちゃん (Everyones Child) with 亡くなる私 (me dying)
Most good stuff is behind the language barrier called Kanji
Thank you for this list
Tousou and Be The Gal are great next songs
They are on the list
The cake was lie.
The most bad-ass song about sugar addiction you'll ever hear. I believe the original song title was 'I Have a Sweet Tooth'. 🍰🍬🥧
Next up, try the songs 'NEET GAME', or 'Be the GAL, early summer ver.' since it's almost summer.
This band is a lot of fun. I'm starting to get a sweet tooth for their music
All I wanted was a Pepsi.
Try their Metal cover of ADO’s ODO (Dance!) - czcams.com/video/SPSpXzp3tfQ/video.html
Ha ha yes, I love suicidal tendencies
🍰🧁🥧🍬🍫🍮
Now I'm hungry
OK, I missed your first reaction to them, but here's some background -- foregive any overlap with your other comments.
Hanabie (pronounced HAHN-a-bi-ǝ)
This is what you get when Babymetal and Maximum the Hormone have a love child. They actually started in high school, playing MTH covers. In their short existence, they have already published three album and toured Europe and North America. Clearly one of THE new metal bands to watch. Most of their songs are quite pointed, concerning social issues like dating app abuse, sexual harassment, drugs, human trafficking, cheating etc. “We Love Sweets” is about having an unhealthy relationship to sugar. Members:
Vocalist (Harsh, rap)- Yukina
Guitarist and Clean vocals - Matsuri
Bassist and backing vocals - Hettsu
Drums - Chika (replaced Sae in 2023)
(Their producer, Gaku Taura, is also the drummer for Crystal Lake. He sat in on drums for Hanabie when they were between full-time drummers.)

Sugar, sugar, sugar, sugar, never, ever
Sugar forever
We love sweets
[Verse]
No! It's 3am. I'm getting hungry
No way! No way! I need something meaty rather than a light snack
("Amai" my mind!)
Oh yeah, simple and easy is just right , don't you think?
("Amai" my mind!)
It's totally fine to be too optimistic, don't you think?
Here we go, I love ice-cream
[Pre-Chorus]
I wanna eat! eat! and eat more!
When I eat something sweet, glucose becomes energy for the brain and
Makes my performance better
My brain goes into full gеar! So I think It's OK to eat some sweets
Of course it's OK to spoil mysеlf, isn't it?
Everyone loves a limited time only sweets buffet!
[Chorus]
It's a perfect day for sugar, but I shake off my cravings
Organize my mind, I can't take the stress anymore
It's a perfect day for sweets, my cravings hit the red zone
Just let me enjoy a stress-free life
[Breakdown]
We love sweets!
Never sugar ever
We love sweets!!
Ever sugar forever
Thankful to oligosaccharide!
Never sugar ever
Thankful to oligosaccharide!!
Ever sugar forever
We love sweets!
After finishing my meal, although I'm so stuffed
I still want dessert, my stomach is grooooowling!
[Bridge]
Sugar is like my drug, I'm addicted to sugar
My mind runs back and forth, my vision changing dizzyingly
Caramel, melty chocolate
Macarons, marshmallows, and sponge cakes
[Outro]
Men can also love sweets
The organizer had a lightbulb moment at 3 a.m
Always covered in sugar, feeling high
Getting scared, and feeling so high
Men can also love sweets
The organizer had a lightbulb moment at 3 a.m
Always covered in sugar, feeling high
What if I become diabetic?!
Men can also love sweets
The organizer had a lightbulb moment at 3 a.m
Always covered in sugar, feeling high
Getting scared, and feeling so high
Sweets, Japanese sweets, Western sweets
I've eaten them all for a long time and even now
However, I'm seriously addicted
We love sweets!
"Amai" means "sweet"... so "Amai my mind" is a play of words
This is great, thank you
It's like your kindergartner got into metal and got possessed by a demon, lol
Lol that's hilarious
Reiwa Dating Apps Generation
Somehow this is their only tracks that i like..others nope..
I've like the two I've listened to so far
Then you must have not listened to a lot because there's plenty of more songs that are heavier.
