    Good start to the tournament and I like your choices. I still love the sound that AWA ring makes for a bump. Great stuff, this should make for an interesting tournament.

    I’m loving this tournament. I have 23 AWA Remco figures. I don’t have the AWA belts, so I have Ric Flair wearing the AEW World title and the Road Warriors wearing the AEW tag-team belts.
    Your lighting looks great!

    The remcos! Lost treasures of wrestling figures, and they were so hard to get. I had only Martel, Zybisco, Flair, baron. The road Warriors I always wanted but was always sold out. Got them after my first few LJN figures. Looking forward to watching this.

    Those were the only wrestlers I had a kid. I'm from Louisville, Memphis territory. So the Fabs were huge here. But I had everyone until the single packs. Started to age out. Sure do wish I'd kept half my toys from the 80s. I never knew about, or remember, the remco he-man knock offs. Wished I had though.

    I really think and some other LJN hardcores say by July 84 when LJN contract was drawn up they were the only American wrestling figures in us market. While I do think remco may have gotten the yellow banner series 1 out around the same time as ljn initial 5.
    Funny enough, my first remco was hawk and animal as well. And I do remember them taking spins in the huge LJN ring.

    Today I had ACDF cervical spine fusion surgery. I played Rugby for 20 years and suffered a fractured skull about 7 years ago. I have been really sick for the past two years with headaches,, severe neck and shoulder pain, extremities weakness and pain, vision problems and (the worst) balance issues. The focus kept coming back to the previous head injury and I was ran through the ringer. Brain scans, random tests and constant bloodwork-ups. My own research and self advocacy led me to demanding a cervical spine MRI... I had a broken neck with spinal cord involvement/compression. We simply missed it. Needless to say I am sore and tired tonight..
    But then I seen this posting. When I wasn't researching my health issues I watched your videos. When things got dark I could depend on you to post some content that would make me forget... If even for a moment. It meant the world. Tonight, laying still trying to ignore the pain I started feeling down wondering if the surgery was gonna get me on the right track to good health? I decided to check out You Tube and first thing I seen was your AWA Remco posting. You started the video by saying "it was between Rocky and AWA Remco. AWA Remco is my favorite toyline and is rarely talked about. Your choice.. In some weird way made me feel like everything was moving in the right direction and I would be fine moving forward. Might have been a random pick but your choice changed a fans life. Thank you!!!
    LOD Remco are the best figures ever made!!!

    If this helps, LJN Andre with the blue trunks and Afro has 1984 labeled on the back but Ric Flair if i remember or maybe Rascke was 1982 i believe.

    Remcos awa wrestlers came out in 1982 .. the first I believe was free birds and road warriors… the LJN wrestlers were stiff and not movable parts

    • @TheNew80sRevolution
      @TheNew80sRevolution  Před 2 lety

      Well. No. They were 84. First series had Martel, Baron, Flair, Larry Z, High Flyers, Fabs

      @justafanofnerdculture7602 Před 2 měsíci

      The only reason why some of the AWA figures have the '82 stamp, is because the bodies were recycled from a previous Remco toy line. More specifically, from The Lost World Of The Warlords line.

    Wouldn't it stink if you thought you were an in shape wrestler, then your figure was released, and you got the flabby body type? Haha. We always watched AWA wrestling in Colorado every Sunday morning. Eventually, WWF took over and, although exciting, all they ever showed was no name wrestlers against the Super stars of wrestling, so it was boring over time, and I kinda wanted AWA back.
