- Stratton, ME Zero day #6 (mi. 2009) It was a very relaxing day that started off with a great breakfast. (see todays menu)
At noon we caught the hostel bus (see today’s video) into town to grab some lunch, and a few resupply items at the local market. The hostel also had a great resupply to choose from, so I ended up getting some at each location. I only need 2ish days of food because my wife will be picking us up in Caratunk. I refuse to run out of snacks the rest of the way though! lol
We came back and rested during the afternoon, then caught the 4 pm bus back into town to hit happy hour at the local BBQ restaurant … all appetizers 50% off! This evening Solar did a CZcams live event on my channel to discuss finding the injured hiker on the trail. I thought he did a great job of detailing what happened, and a few people asked questions.
Breakfast is at 0700 tomorrow and I think we are going to try to make the 8 am shuttle back to the trail. We have the Bigelows to conquer tomorrow, really our last big climb until Katahdin.
Today’s menu: 3 waffles with fresh fruit Nutella whip cream & syrup, 2 helpings of home fries, 2 mugs of tea, 4 sausage links, a can of Mt. Dew, 2 servings of scrambled eggs, 1 liter of ginger ale, large bag of garden salsa sun chips, a banana, 3 pints of strawberry frozen yogurt, a quart of chocolate milk, an order of buffalo cauliflower, an order of burnt ends, a draft beer, a turkey club wrap, 1/4 of a watermelon, and water.
