Honda Grom Engine Swap: Twice the Engine for Twice the Price - CBR 250cc / 300cc How-To

  • The Honda Grom is fun, but it can be made more fun with one of the easiest engine swaps you can do. I take one Grom, one CBR250R, some reasonably priced parts, and with only basic hand tools and a weekend, make the Grom a way better motorcycle.
Most of this is super easy and you don’t need to fabricate anything.
There are a handful of videos on this swap, but a lot of them are long-winded tear-downs lacking detailed information, followed by wheelies. If you’d rather do wheelies than watch wheelies, then watch this video and do it yourself!

For fuel Air ratio adjustment, I used a resistor in between the O2 exhaust sensor and the unit.
Though the ECU reads the signal digitally, it still enriches the mixture to the point where 1kOhms resistor gets black exhaust soot.
But you can feel what setting works best. It's a bit of give and take. Too high of a resistor (I tried with a 1kOhms pot) and the top end suffers, but the bottom will ride great. Too low, and the bottom end suffers.
So a mixture (I think I used a 250Ohms resistor, but don't quote me on that).

The best way to lower the cost of a project is to save the Old Parts ( drive Chain ) And sell them later.
Why damage and Waste things ?
That you can recoup some cash from .....
    Work smart lower costs .
