    I bought the 2019 Highlander hybrid platinum. The slated chrome grill is more stylish. The quick open rear window is nice. We are very happy we bought this Toyota.

      Brian Jimenez what kind of deal did you get for that 2019?

    • @idahofisherman100
      @idahofisherman100 Před 4 lety

      @@vipergts109 $44,300 was the agreed price. The dealership didn't have the vehicle we wanted. So they offered a compensation for waiting a extra day. This was a good business opportunity for both parties. I live about 5 blocks away from a Toyota dealership. My family was out for a drive and we stopped at another Toyota dealership about 30 miles away. That dealership was very motivated to make a deal. The original price was $44,800. We were offered $1000 off that price for buying a different color, grey outside and black interior. We where leaning to the white exterior and grey interior for a $500 discount.
      In September Toyota had incentives and the hybrid model was a great deal. Check with the dealer for offers that change often.

    • @idahofisherman100
      @idahofisherman100 Před 4 lety +1

      The dealership will offer or pressure you to buy extended warranties, under coating, protection coating on paint, plastic and windshield. These options could tack on thousands to the final price. We choose the under coating and the warranty salesman and I negotiated a lower price on the extended warranty.

    I ordered the XLE FWD which is the sweet spot for 2020 Highlander. The L was waaay too basic for me. Still waiting for our West Coast Toyota dealers to get their inventory in!! Thanks for the good review. I wrestled with this decision: buy 2019 & save $$$/buy the updated version. But ultimately the 2020 won out! Too many updates in design & technology to ignore, especially as a realtor with clients. I need to plug my Android phone on the screen, which you can't do with 2019 model.... Plus the new platform gives the car2 more cubic feet of storage in the cargo area. Perfect for my open house signs/ office in the "trunk." The more luxurious feeling of the 2020 interior is a winner too!

      @MrJeffohler Před 4 lety +2

      Major refresh for the Highlander will not occur before 2024, unless sales dictate. The 2020 Highlander is a complete clean sheet change. In the trucks, (non passenger car units) Clean sheet changes are on an 8 year cycle. Toyota will not do another clean sheet change until 2028 in the Highlander. They will usually do a major refresh on the 4 year, and again on year 6. The mid cycle changes are mostly cosmetic, with some tech improvements.

Complaint on (I think 2020) that the map is located on the right side. Why? It should have been on the left side for the driver to see it closer when driving. i'm dissappointed. Highlander 2020 looks like something from 2011. Better off buying a low mileage 2019 model with good trim

    There's no question that Toyota needed to update/upgrade the long-in-the-tooth Highlander for 2020 and it's a better vehicle all round. On the other hand, the competition is also tougher for 2020, especially with the Korean entries from Hyundai and KIA. The Highlander has grown in size by about 2.5" in length to bring it closer in size to rivals such as the Pilot, Ascent, and the Telluride where it's now only about 2" smaller than its rivals. But the increased room is limited to the second row with the third row still relatively cramped. And where Toyota's absurd claim of seating for 8 passengers is supported only by three seat belts in the third row.
    Toyota will sell boatloads of the Highlander but at best it's competitive, not a class leader except in its offering of a hybrid version.

    Every trim of the new 2020 Highlander looks cheap, even the fully loaded Platinum. The biggest problem is the lack of design in the grille and the use of only two colours, body and black.
