- Step 1: Choose a Suitable Location
Sugar cane requires a tropical or subtropical climate with plenty of sunlight and well-drained soil. Choose a location with temperatures consistently above 60°F (15°C) and ample rainfall or access to irrigation.
Step 2: Prepare the Soil
Prepare the soil by clearing away weeds, rocks, and debris. Sugar cane prefers sandy loam or clay loam soil with a pH between 5.5 and 7.0. If your soil is too acidic, you can add lime to raise the pH.
Step 3: Obtain Sugar Cane Cuttings
Obtain sugar cane cuttings, also known as setts or billets, from a reputable source. Cuttings should be about 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 cm) long with at least one bud or "eye" per cutting.
Step 4: Plant the Sugar Cane Cuttings
Plant the sugar cane cuttings horizontally in furrows or trenches, leaving about 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 cm) between each cutting. Cover the cuttings with soil, leaving the buds exposed.
Step 5: Water Regularly
Water the sugar cane regularly, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged. Sugar cane requires consistent moisture, especially during the growing season. Irrigate as needed, depending on your climate and rainfall.
Step 6: Control Weeds
Keep the area around the sugar cane free from weeds, as they can compete for nutrients and water. Use manual or mechanical methods to control weeds, as chemical herbicides may damage the sugar cane.
Step 7: Fertilize
Fertilize the sugar cane with a balanced fertilizer that is high in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Apply the fertilizer according to the manufacturer's instructions or based on a soil test.
Step 8: Provide Sun Protection
Protect the sugar cane from excessive sunlight by providing shade, especially during the hot summer months. You can use shade cloth or plant taller crops nearby to provide natural shade.
Step 9: Watch for Pests and Diseases
Monitor the sugar cane for pests and diseases, such as aphids, borers, and rust. Use appropriate insecticides or fungicides if necessary, following the label instructions.
Step 10: Harvest the Sugar Cane
Harvest the sugar cane when it reaches maturity, which usually takes about 10 to 18 months depending on the variety and growing conditions. Cut the stalks close to the ground and remove the leaves. Sugar cane can be used immediately or stored for later use.
Growing sugar cane requires patience and careful management, but with the right conditions and care, you can enjoy a bountiful harvest of this sweet and versatile crop.
Am not Chinese but I like their creativity in everything. And they do everything with low cost and in a smart and clean way!
Cheap quality
You mad at Chinese, am proud u r mad
@@taichitao85 so proud of em and misef
May be knowledge is something that you need to get. These practices without harming environment have been their for hundreds of years. What is the biggest bullshit is plastic in the environment which they are promoting at all costs. Tgey have ruined environment with cheap plastics and promoting that shit in farming. We use dried straws and leaves from the cane to keep weeds away.
We use 'goute a goute ' system of irrigation so there are no water resources wastage. This is is just to promote their cheap wasteful manufacturing ..!! Don't be fooled
hutiya hai bhai
Why are very simple skills now being labeled "technology"? Doesn't anyone know about simple work these days? I am 69. The person cutting the cane for planting does it exactly the way that I do: no more than 3 eyes per seed piece. Gets better germination percentage. Very uniform stand of cane, btw! Very admirable.
cause this is Chinese propaganda 😁
Same thing I was asking myself, simple skills and tools " technology"
@@ndirangugichuki6260 technology doesn't mean new or advanced or complicated.
Technology simply means application of knowledge for practical purposes bro
These are genetically modified. Thats y technology.
In our country, a cat can't enter it, but here a full body man😂 is walking in sugar cane field.😂😂 that's really amazing for me
Sahi pakde hai 😂
India rank 2 nd Ichina rank 4th
That's what im also thinking.... Just few weeks back we visited sugarcane farm for a Video

Love the tradition, hard work, technological updation of CHINA.
These fields look so beautiful, but the amount of work put on these it is astonishing.
Such enormous work! A skill that is not appreciated but absolutely necessary and beautiful.
Amazing technique for sugarcane grown.🌱🌱🌱
Wow, this video is amazing! I love the way you explained everything in such a clear and concise manner. The visuals and animations were also very helpful in understanding the topic. Thank you for creating such valuable content and sharing it with us. Keep up the great work!"

In India, the cultural practices are somewhat same but the soils and atmosphere are different.
We are doing better ☺️
Please explain why the leaves are removed. Its such a low value crop for such a lot of work.
@@greighenning9091 so nutrients will not go there and wasted...with lesser leaves sugar cane shoots up for the sunlight...same as planting mahogany trees 3 meters apart
tell me how india do better than china.😁
I've seen sugar cane plantations in India on YT and the planting method is at par with the whole world.
This Chinese method is 1st so far.
A friend is like Sunrise, happens daily. A true friend is like rain, it occurs yearly, But someone like you is like TSUNAMI😲😲😲, such disasters are rare… Happy Friendship Day👍👍👍

I've never seen anything so beautiful.
very cool
Same type of this technique should be applied in India also for sugarcane cultivation nice liked it very much produce and yield will also be very high.
what is the yield per acre
Very amazing technology...salute from Philippines
In South Africa, sugar cane grows with very minimal effort-rich soil and great weather.
sugar cane plants are very perfect my friend and this is amazing
This is China. Here everything happens with perfection
Even covid outbreak. No chance for the world to escape 😂😂😂

It looks like bamboo but bamboo doesn't cut so easily with a cleaver as is shown to us here . In Australia the sugarcane plantations were known to be dangerous places because of all the rats and snakes and other things and Europeans couldn't supposedly work in the humid tropical conditions therefore the plantation owners engaged in ^blackbirding ^ . Blackbirding was the practice of raiding Pacific islands to obtain slaves mainly by trickery more than force .
So here we see definite work going into each plant trimming the leaves away . Surely each plant would yield less than a kilo of sugar , a minute spent per plant , hardly more thsn 50 cents of sugar from one plant . I guess the cost benefits do work out then .
Snakes don't stay in sugarcane field sugarcanes body consists of sharp leaves which can cut snakes skin which will led to ant occupancy on snake and eventually it will die
This is the intensive n perfect cultivation.I am surprised to see the high-tech agriculture.
Lots of love to China from Russia ❤️
Sugar cane...an extra ordinary plant for a very unusual drink!
Interesting!
I love to see my fellow farmers ❤️❤️❤️

I guess a Chinese pied piper is also homegrown along with those canes.
I haven't seen like this in my country yet, so beautiful sugarcane. I see this not only about money but art. 🙂👍🏻🙏🏻
Bom dia amigo

Me encanta el video . Muy bellos los campos de caña
I am from India and we used the "Ring Pit Method" for sugarcane farming and I think it's simplest method sugarcane farming
I can't believe that it's a real sugarcane farm
I think per acre yield is higher here than in india because the sugarcane looks thicker and heavier. Also the extra foliage is being removed so that the entire energy is utilised by the sugar cane itself for growth.
Whatever the Chinese does is beautiful, successful and perfection no wonder why they are going to be the richest country in the world not before long
Very true
With one exception their affairs dealing with people autonomous region like that of muslim majority Xinjiang province
so tidy & organize so much hard work & caring...

Its not technology.....its hard working....pure human efforts
This is what it looks like when the cost of labor is less than the price of air.
watching from Barcelona Spain
Great performance by agricultural labours
Great sugarcane planting technique
My favorite when i was a child when i still able to bite this hard sugar cane ...
Mantap. Dari petani Indonesia hadir semangat
MA SHA ALLAH VERY NICE SUBAHANALLAH .
Me encantan esos surcos de caña
Can soil a little bit salty to turn grass into sugarcane in the beginning where no sugarcane existed yet. So in theory there must be mass grave with blood collected beneath the first formation of sugarcane soecie
Amazing women.stay safe Godbless.im your new subcriber

This sugar cane for juice in shopping malls , not for sugar mills that’s why they look after more
How many qualities in one Hector in this method
i think this method is good if you are only selling it per piece,. for juice or eat it..
but for sugar production this is not advisable..
Lindo. Porém, econômicamente inviável.
