I'm surprised someone Lucy's age had any experience with cassette tapes. I have limited experience with them, and I'm half-again her age. In this respect, Lucy has more in common with a 45-year-old man than her Lionesses teammate. Weird.
I was born in 1990 and growing up, most cars still had cassette players, my parents had music collections on cassette tapes and every music system played cassettes. Even after CDs became more widespread, cassettes were still popular for recording your own playlist.
@@aequanimitas May I ask where you grew up? I had access to writable CDs through my college in 1995. By 2000 you'd have been 10 years old and already they were commonly found in home PCs.
I was born in 94 and had cassette tapes.. it's not like CD's didn't exist haha. It's just that older cars had cassette players, your cd player also had a cassette player attached. It's not like all cassettes just disappear. Used to listen to story tapes when I was a kid up until 10 I'd say. Some of the Harry potter's came out on tape, so I'd listen to those.
