Quentin Tarantino talks about his knowledge of martial arts, reveals even more details about Bruce Lee and his controversial portrayal in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
yea it was a revenge film for bruce lee to kill David Carradine. David Carradine got a role bruce lee was up for due to racist film executives and also played Bill in kill bill....
Weird, quite a few professionals have stated that Bruce Lee was legendary, and could really fight. Wasn't it Chuck Norris who said that the reason Bruce Lee was so scary, was because he fought untethered?
It's entertainment folks, and I find Tarantino's movies very entertaining. If you think you can make a movie that is closer to the truth, have at it, but I'll still go see QT's movies.
Well, Quentin is just speaking from his own ego. He knows what he wrote was complete BS, purely to draw attention. He contradicted his own argument, within 30 seconds of making it. "It doesn't matter how well someone is trained, someone's gonna f**k up... but, but, not a green barret. That's impossible" Sure, a green barret could win, but that's not a guaranty. It's still just a type of training.
I'll go with all of the opinions of everyone that knew Bruce the best and they all said he was the real deal and that special. I love Tarantino but I believe he's so wrong on Bruce. When actual professional badass fighters who knew Bruce said Bruce was that lethal I believe them.
@Agent 39 I wasn't wrong about what I said about real fighters saying he was that dangerous if he was in a fight. Don't believe me go do a little research and see for yourself.
QT's point is valid. It doesn't matter if you're the most skilled fighter in the world if your opponent outweighs you by 80lbs. Nurmagomedov retired undefeated, but would have got his ass handed to him by the lowest ranked heavyweight.
It’s same like fast & furious film cars were fake, even sound was added and dom’s charger blower of literally a electric motor and Tokyo drift mustang has a V8 & S15 inline-4 engine not a RB26 . So Bruce less talk is real , believe it or not .
I really don't know why QT who payed homage to him in Kill Bill seems so confused as to why Bruce Lee is revered as he is and what he meant to martial arts both on and off screen. If he's a fan he would understand the other fans of Bruce Lee and if he understands why the fam is upset it means he knows he portrayed him as unflattering to his legacy.
From listening to Quentin Tarantino, it's pretty obvious Tarantino knows nothing about martial arts, and I'm not referring to his opinion on Bruce Lee.
Some people really love the idea of Bruce lee being the ultimate god fighter, sure he's the grandaddy of martial arts but as time goes techniques evolve and the current 145 pound UFC champ Volk would dominate Bruce lee
In Once Upon Time in Hollywood, Director Tarantino was going to use the actor/football player, Jim Brown instead of Bruce Lee. However, Tarantino feared the concern of Jim Brown. Instead, Bruce Lee a man no longer alive was better to down grade without repercussions. Tarantino trained in bull shit.
Everyone picks up on the Ali comment, but Tarantino was even more insulting than that. He has the Bruce Lee character call fellow martial artist Joe lewis "that white kickboxing arsehole". Joe Lewis and Bruce Lee were friends in real life.
@@pablohanc What gets me is Tarantino claims he read that in Linda Lee's book -- but that's not true. And Rogan knows it's bull and doesn't say much because he's in awe of Tarantino. Once Upon A Time is a great movie, and the Bruce Lee protrayal just detracts because it's such obvious crap. All he had to do is talk to people who knew the man. Instead he misrememberd something he read, and when called on it doubled down on being right.
The older Quentin gets, the more bitter and sour he gets. Every interview he does, he shouts down the interviewer. I guess he’s just tired of doing interviews, answering the same old questions about his films and violence, etc
I love Tarantino’s honesty and straightforward approach to filmmaking.
Says the guy that literally ripped his style in Kill Bill. Bruce Lee was fucking legendary.

Enter the dragon pos? Damn me and Quentin Tarantino are gonna have troubles
Enter the Dragon is not a piece of shit Quentin, I’d respectfully disagree with you there.

Joe Lewis was the Father of Full contact Karate.
Anyone that thinks Enter the Dragon is a piece of s*** is definitely not a Bruce Lee fan.
Agree, his masterpiece.

@Agent 39 Never claimed he did partner but he didn't need to because I know what the end result would of been. Him wiping the fucking floor with them.

@Agent 39 exactly
Fist of Fury was the best 🔥🔥🔥

I really hate when people say no one had mixed different martial arts before Bruce did it… Kajukenbo was created before Bruce was even born.
From listening to Quentin Tarantino, it's pretty obvious Tarantino knows nothing about martial arts, and I'm not referring to his opinion on Bruce Lee.
The once inch punch was fake !

I just find it funny how this guys talkin like he knows or even met bruce 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Bruse Lee famously said Ali would kick his butt. To protray him the way Tarantino did was bullshit.

And now Bruce is known to be a drug addict
What?
@@Blood0cean No clue man.
