Carol Corbett who did the Patchwork Family show with Cary Antebi only lasted one season in 1972-73. It then continued to appear on tv as reruns until 1989. @@Johnnyboy792 You're welcome! I forgot to mention that I remembered seeing "The Money Store" commercial quite often for years. Now I realize that considering where I grew up, (not too far from NYC), it made alot of sense for that commercial to be run....and often. I also didn't mention that I watched "The Quiet Man" with my dad too over the years. It was one of his favorite John Wayne movies. The programmers from WPIX would hopefully be impressed that all these years later that a kid who grew up on so many of those shows and movies still remember every one of them, and I'm grateful that some of them help forge a bond between my dad and I. Cheers.

Very nice work! As I watched I was thinking, "What about _____?", and then the clip would come on.There were so many shows that I'd forgotten. I counted the inclusion of, Hank Stohl as a nod to Fireman Todd, Gigantor as a nod to 8th Man, and Captain Scarlet as a nod to Super Car, Stingray & Planet Patrol. This brought me a smile and a warm feeling. I loved it! Thanks to you and WPIX!

2:38 - That character on the monitor would become Lorelai the Chicken, on "The Electric Company". She was an Aniform, a closely guarded, secret technique of doing live animation. It actually involved flat, foam puppets in a dark box with a camera pointed at it. That camera's feed was mixed with the main live-action video feed, and the black areas around the Aniform were replaced with the main feed.

I'm in NH. On July 17, 1980, we got cable, and one of the channels we got was WPIX. Back then I remember them calling themselves TV-PIXXX (or something like that). My younger brother was 7 at the time, and WPIX was his favorite channel; when he got home from school he went straight to that channel. I even mentioned in on some Easter Hunt cards I made for him a few years later. My brother died in 1994 and WPIX always reminds me of him. Although most of the memories on here were "pre-us", there were a few good memories in here. Thank you.
