Considering their duo song "Marv and Harry are coming to town!" in cut away scenes.
Originally they had someone else play Marv but had to scrap the scenes because of a lack of chemistry.

Macaulay was pressured by his parents fighting over who gets his big earnings.He never enjoyed fame or fortune and quit acting in 1994.
It is his own parents that pulled him down and led him to drugs.
But now,he is not a drug addict.He is healthy,happy and back on track.He is happy with his band,his art-filled apartment etc.He returned to acting but less often than he used to as a kid.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but because of how re-watched Home Alone is and with how much it’s a pop culture staple, especially around Christmas time, it’s so easy to forget that real people were involved in it’s creation and that it didn’t always exist.
