And just how she was looking at him, around 5:00 and just the awe and love, that’s amazing. She’s so sweet! My female cousin was always jealous of me, despite me trying my hardest to be nice and supportive; I didn’t understand jealousy then or why she was mad with me. To see cousins reacting so well, all the support, it’s something to see!
My older cousins never had much time for me; we had a ton of cousins on one side that were all older than me, and on the other, only two, younger. We weren’t ever close because we didn’t spend time together. I only have one sibling and never really had an extended family experience growing up. But this family! It’s such a great example of how family can bond and grow and be there for each other and have real LOVE. Not navigating social norms for the sake of politeness. But just... because they want to be there. I hope when my brother and I get to the stage of having kids, we make it work, have the cousins be there for each other. We know first hand how lonely it can be without much family to hold on to.
That tugged at my heartstrings. I am not one to cry or have my heartstrings tugged at, but that did me in. 😭😭😭😭

I have to say something. Bailey is absolutely amazing. She reminds me so much of my niece. She’s living out her true age. In this day and age kids are way too mature and act much older than her age. She is so fun and such a child at heart. I love it. I love you guys for embracing her true nature and her personality.

I got a tear in my eye hearing Chris say "Holding a baby is the best feeling in the world!" because I have never heard a man say that. I know that's sad, but don't be sad for me, be joyous that Colleen's new baby is born into such a loving, BIG, wonderful family that is looking so much forward to being in his life and watching him grow!

Emma Dynes I know, right? Like, my nuclear family is close and no one in my extended family is divorced and there’s not abuse and alcohol, so we’re doing pretty well, in theory. But... my cousins were either uninterested in me or jealous and I didn’t understand why they were mad at me (hindsight is 20/20!) and I always thought of my Aunt as “acting,” when she was being nice to me, and it fits, because she didn’t like any of my family. We didn’t spend any time together growing up, don’t speak outside of holidays, don’t even have each others’ numbers in our phones. One cousin calls if she wants something and that’s it. I’ve got my older brother and my parents, which is a lot more than a lot of people. But... I always wanted that feeling of family, the kinship. It’s not something you can manufacture, and I was never able to pretend well enough to really believe things were okay growing up, that I was in a ‘normal happy family.’
Just... the amount of excitement and love is something I was not prepared for. It wasn’t “oh another person means less attention for me,” or “how do I make myself important again,” just.. them being happy that he’s here. The looks of wonder and love were just too much for me. I really couldn’t handle it!
I can only hope when my brother and I have kids we do it a tenth as well as the Ballingers.

Parker was so gentle and sweet and even though he was gentle, you could still see the excitment booming off of him. Jake was absolutely so cute and funny and sweet with that taco eating lesson. AND DUNCAN. IS. TALL. He is a big boy! I didnt realize how little baby stocklin actually was until little Duncy was right next to him. All of these kids are so perfect and wonderful. You clearly are such amazing parents who have raised your kids RIGHT! Props to you, and to Colleen and Erik, for being amazing parents. 💓 love you guys so much

Just to see Jessica, Chris, Bailey and Parker's and Jacob’s reaction to Colleen's baby’s birth was adorable. Their faces when they saw the pictures.
