Just got back from the game, very impressed by some of the youngsters. Potts, Casey, Orford were excellent and deserve better than sitting on the bench. Marshall and Earthy and Kadua also will be big players for us if we can keep hold of them. Andy Irvin also impressed and scored a really good goal.
I wish I had watched that game but I refuse to pay £5 for a pre season match.

Sounds promising. Seems like we're starting to find our identity under Lopetegui. Promising signs.
For me this was more of the same from WH and Lop: this looked like a progression from Austria. Lots of running in both games, quick passing and less dallying on the ball than the DM era. Long may it continue.
Enjoyed the game today, there were a lot of good performances.. and the occasional worrying one! Kilman looked brilliant, he was definitely our best defender. Ward-Prowse is obviously going to be an important player for us with his ability to reliably play cross field passes. Some of the youngsters really impressed too, Orford and Potts both made mistakes but the quality of the passing was really good and they had a lot of energy. That Casey did surprisingly well at RB... and Kidua looked competent all game.
It is clear we need a striker though, Ings struggled to get on the end of passes all second half and Marshall didn't do as much in the first half as in other games. Also, wasn't sure about all those offside calls, at least a couple of them looked onside to me!
The striker will also benefit from having Bowen Kudus and Paqueta

The results really aren't important it's about building fitness and forming playing relationships with each other. The score really doesn't matter at all, you want players reaching peak when season starts for real, not in a meaningless friendly/ training game, winning them is nice but not important
An obvious takeaway, in addition to the style of play emerging, is final third and end product, goals - we really have to get a striker!

Orford at 18 yrs old is going to be a player, ok, one misplaced pass at the start of the game , but his passing range is second to none and his positioning is so good. Potts did well and Kodua was very lively. Love Casey and Kudus is a monster.

Personally I thought Mavropanas was iffy, enjoyed Kadua & Kudos.

Fuck me, you're easily pleased. We were playing against amateurs. Should have been 0-10!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a friendly, am not that bothered by the scoreline. Likewise if we won 10-0, it be nice but I wouldn’t start suggesting it means we’re finishing top 4.
As said, more and better chances were required but it’s a friendly, am not apologising for not being arsed about the score
