This version of the song actually isn't from the album Ascendancy. It was recorded before the band joined Roadrunner for one of their demos; Flavus (The Yellow Demo). Roadrunner gave it a better mix, cut some parts out and made it a single. The album version is a lot cleaner and the vocals are stronger. Really great version. Definitely check it out. Matt Heafy (Hayfee) was 18 when this was recorded. The other guitarist Corey Beaulieu (Bowlyay) had recently joined the band. The bassist here was Brent Young. Paolo Gregoletto played bass on the album version. Travis Smith absolutely annihilated the drums. You're gonna love this band. I can tell. Good luck, and keep up the great work! ❤
You should probably do the sin and the sentence and if you want to see a wild man on the drums do the drum cut video and watch one of the greatest displays of drumming put on camera
Hear me out on this one, fam. Check out Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis from the album Shogun. Everything Trivium did here is even more epic on Shogun. Insane drums, crazy shred, roaring vocals. You're gonna get something truly badass. While you're at it, some other songs that make a great start are Suffocating Sight, Entrance of the Conflagration, Down from the Sky, Insurrection, He Who Spawned the Furies, and Like Callisto to a Star in Heaven. Literally choose whichever songs sound the coolest, because they are. By the way, it's the music videos that usually get blocked. Video copyright is much worse than audio copyright. Throwing up lyric videos or just audio will be good enough on our end while you watch.
I got backstage to sounds of the underground in Houston thanks to my cousin, which Trivium was there. I stood on the side of the stage while they were on stage. I have a pic with Corey the guitar player right before they went on stage & a pic with Matt the singer as he was coming off stage. I've seen them live 3 times & that was my 1st, I was 20 at the time.
Can you please react to Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr, Suffocating Sight? They are both from the same album as Like Light To The Flies, the album is Ascendancy. Basically anything from last 2 albums, Ascendancy, and Shogun is amazing but all their songs are good.
"Light" and "Gunshot" were edited to hell, yet still.... Ascendancy (album) is still one of the "Big 3" for Trivium. Shogun (album) is understood to be #1, even by those that disagree, including me. (SatS....and Alex Bent).
Well this is one hell of a way to get introduced to one of the best modern metal bands! Edit: Trivium really turned me off at the beginning because of the way he screams, so I suggest reacting to a song with only clean vocals, like "Until the World Goes Cold"
