Majestic Gothic cathedrals, Renaissance style operas and mighty skyscrapers define this land. The Rhine river with its medieval castles are important features as well. The palaces and historical monuments give Germany its soul. The modern Autobahn, airports and economical hubs assure the strength and prosperity of this country in the heart of Europe. Germany is tradition and modernism in one; Germany is an old nation that has been shaped by its people for over a thousand years and will continue its way to a bright future in accordance to friendship, respect to its neighbors and the world. Germany is my fatherland and the country that gives me my unique identity. We’ve had dark and bright years in our history. We have risen from the ashes after every conflict and kept our place among the best nations in the world. Germany is more than a piece of land. Germany is an idea, a spirit created by generations of people. Germany is a flame, and every German is one spark and part of a greater community.

Well, no need to feel guilty for anyone one hasn't done, but it _is_ a good idea to keep history in mind, especially when it has (or may have) still lasting consequences - and _definitely_ if there are some people who still haven't learned those lessons and are trying to repeat them...
But just focussing on the negative parts of history is also a terrible idea. There's plenty of positive things 😊
@@Wolf-ln1ml I don't think anyone needs to feel guilty. But there are people out there who won't let the negative go. I live in USA. And I got a taste of it a week ago. First time in my life something like that has happened to me. A friend and I were trolling each other on a social media platform...writing in German. When along comes someone who called us all kinds of nasty stuff and told us to get out of their country (we were both born here...he isn't even of German descent. I am. My father was German.). Told us we weren't welcome here. So yeah, the negativity is real in some people.
Germany is a very rich, powerful and beautiful country. I will miss the four years when I was living in Ulm forever. Love from China.

Danke, Jan, dass du Bonn so schön findest. In meiner alten Heimat und Geburtsort Bonn gibt es schöne Orte, ordentliche Stadtentwicklung und oft zu teuren Denkmalschutz - leider noch zu viele Immobilienhaie und deren "Brüder" mit dicken Geldbörsen aus Nahost, die die Kultur der Deutschen verachten und spät in der Nacht ihre Gesinnung erkenntlich zeigen ("halts Maul, scheiss Deutscher"). Ich tue mein bestes, diesen Deutschland-Abschaffern den rechten Platz zuzuweisen.
Mein Bruder hat eine hübsche, kluge Polin geheiratet (sie hat das Vermögen der Eheleute fleißig mehr als verdreifacht) und zwei bildhübsche Kinder mit ihr gezeugt. Sie macht meine Familie und mich stolz und gibt mir Vertrauen in gute Nachbarschaft. Ich denke, ihr Polen seit noch nicht so verblödet, das eigene Land und kulturelle Erbe für eine sozialistische Traum-EU zu verschachern an fremde Invasoren, wie es Deutschland derzeit tut. Sie ist es nicht. Mein Bruder auch nicht (welch ein Geschenk ihre Worte sind, wo es vielen deutschen Frauen schlicht egal ist). Die Deutschen durch jahrelange Propaganda der ÖR leider immer noch.

In Krakau war ich ebenfalls, allerdings vor vielen, vielen Jahren im Jahr 1998. Die Stadt der polnischen Könige mit einem sehr schönen öffentlichen Platz, gutem Essen und wohlfein restaurierten und gepflegten Denkmälern und Gebäuden, die zeigen, dass Polen sein kulturelles Erbe wertschätzt, erhält und gegen Verschandelung durch Dritte Profiteure schützt.

I am turkish guy living in Germany. I was born here and i can admit honestly that Germany is really a well organized country. I have visited many countries including european ones. The thing i have missed there was the respect to law. Almost every german has respect to law. This is the reason why Germany is so developed.
I´m from Sweden and i love my country,but if i should pick another place to live in it would without a doubt be Germany. I wisit it as often as i can,about 50 times or so by now.

In the mid 1970s I spent two years in Germany while in the Army. When I got a two three day pass a buddy and I would head off to explore Germany and Switzerland. We never got much further because Germany was so vast and so enjoyable. We traveled from the Rhine Falls in the south to Humberg in the north. My favorite place? Wherever we were on any given day! The people were so great. We ate more food made from pork and drank more beer then humanly possible.
Over the years I have been back a few times. I still love it.

I was in Germany 36 years ago with my mother who was born in Koln
When i saw the Dom I sat in a pew as sunshine streamed through the stained glass. I was in such awe it took my breath away and tears welled up in my eyes. This coming year i am returning with family and friends. It will be bittersweet as my youngest son was so excited sbout going, unfortunately he was disgnosed with cancer and died this past July. I will return to the Dom and light a candle. He will be with us in spirit. Germany is like visiting heaven.

The Russians and the Germans have fought terrible wars, not because we are so different, but because we are so alike. Russian bear and German eagle together could achieve a lot.
I just feel more connected with the Germans and Germany than with Russia.
I have a "love" for Russia, but it is insignificant. You were able to preserve your culture (even considering the migration), even the National Socialists protected it, but not the Bolsheviks in Russia. Ich habe mich dieses Jahr entschieden einen verlängerten Deutschlandurlaub zu machen, aufgrund dieses Videos. Sonst sind wir immer ins Ausland gefahren. Wahnsinn alleine, was es für schöne Museen in Deutschland gibt, denn ich interessiere mich auch sehr für Geschichte im Allgemeinen. Es war eines der geilsten Erlebnisse überhaupt. Es ist wirklich unglaublich wie divers unser schönes Deutschland ist, egal wo wir hingereist sind. Wir haben echt coole Menschen kennengelernt. Dieses Video zeigt wirklich nur ein kleinen Ausschnitt von Deutschland. Man kann echt sagen, dass es ein Privileg ist als Deutscher geboren worden zu sein. Wenn ich das Video anschaue empfinde ich Stolz und Dankbarkeit zugleich und etwas was mich bis heute wirklich immer wieder erstaunt... wir duschen mit Trinkwasser, ich habe kaum ein anders Land außerhalb Europas kennengelernt, das vergleichbar wäre. Es ist echt krass. Ich hatte Geschichte Leistungskurs in der Schule, wenn ich mir anschaue, wo Deutschland, Frankreich und alle europäischen Länder heute stehen, ist das einfach nur Wahnsinn. Damals hätte vermutlich kaum jemand gedacht, dass wir einmal ein so friedliches Europa haben würden. Es ist daher ein Privileg und Verpflichtung zugleich, diesen Zustand für weitere Generationen zu festigen und es ist umso schmerzlicher zu sehen, was das Putinregime mit der Ukraine macht. Ich selbst habe Freunde in Russland und ich weis genau, was sie von diesem Krieg halten... nämlich gar nichts.
Das freut mich wirklich extrem! Mich haben die ganzen Nachforschungen auch dazu inspiriert jedes Jahr eine andere Region unserer schönen Heimat zu besichtigen. Aber mir fehlen noch einige wichtige Orte.
Der Frieden wird auch im Osten wieder einkehren und dann wird die Flanke der EU gesichert, schon jetzt sind ja noch mehr Skandinavier beigetreten. Russland hat die eigene Lage eigentlich nur verschlimmert.
