Are these crop of cheap EVs interesting enough to lure you away from gas, or are you going to wait for even more inexpensive options? Let us know!
The Volkswagen ID.4 is missing on your list.
No.
No way…much much too heavy. When someone brings out a 2,500 pound electric sports car (hello, Miata), then I will be joining the electric crowd.
Already made the jump. Ioniq5 delighted.
Dude u missed cheaper ev s lol ,dacia spring ,renault 5. Zoe ,byd and even lots of chinese evs....
Before you buy new, check the used EV pricing. Hertz has flooded the used EV market now causing prices to drop faster than a rock. Nothing wrong with used Teslas, save the money over new.
Well, the way how used car interest rates are set up, it sometimes works out to be the same. If you have the cash money buying used can save you. But if you're just a regular Joe that rely on financing, probably better off buying new, get the EV incentive and cheaper interest rates.
When buying used, there's no way to tell the real battery health of the car. Except for a few select EVs. Thus, many prefer buying new EVs instead.
Where is the best sites to search used Evs?
@@Mrbigdraco there's none so far
used pricing is still too high to make it a good investment. warranty is most important imo
Love the video and the content you guys are putting up both in media and on your website.
The EV range test data is also fascinating and a real straight-forward way to cut through all the advertised range claims by the manufacturers and show us what a real world figure looks like.
One suggestion, if its possible - can you include the EV efficiency (wh/mile) in your charts?
While range is a good data point, it can be skewed by larger battery size; vs say a more efficient (but smaller) battery with similar or maybe slightly lower range.
Higher battery efficiency could mean less frequent charge-ups and lesser charging times (maybe you could do a video on this with your expert opinion), so its definitely an interesting data point to compare.
Hyundai is offering a factory discount of 7,500 usd for the Kona, so its cheaper than the MSRP. Its been extended into to Feb. Though from my clicking around I see alot of dealerships are trying to steal the discount.
EX30 really shouldn't be on this list either - it can't be bought today. You put in a $500 deposit that one day may turn into an actual order. If you didn't do that literally 8 months ago, you aren't getting until next year.
I love my 2023 Bolt EUV
A few look nice. However as a 6’3” man, the front leg room of the 4d SUVs are usually quite uncomfortable. They just don’t make many 2dr anymore. Which are usually far roomier up front.
yep the kona is cramped on the left side too
Polestar 2
i had never driven an suv before but test drove a mazda cx30 although its super compact…i assumed the height would be the same or better than the camry i drive, but the camry is on another level of spaciousness compared to the cx30. i was shocked. the back seats should be removed because only a small child would fit back there. idk if a carseat even fits back there
Tesla did change reported EPA numbers just before model 3 refresh launch. Maybe they will finally get close to the numbers on your testing loop now.
The title lists “cars you can buy today”. The Equinox is not available for sale and is coming soon so it shouldn’t be on this list. Other cars like the EX-30 as well. So this is not really accurate.
I will wait them out.
How about the "Dacia Spring"?
Hyundai and kia mostly are the best have the enthusiasm of their performance tests numbers
what about the Nero EV?
Where is the Volkswagen ID.4?
ID.4 Standard has 209mi EPA range and starts at $38995.
The much better ID.4 Pro has 275mi EPA range and starts at $43995. And they qualify for the $7500 federal tax credit!
So the ID.4Pro comes in at the same price as the EX30, has the same range and power figures but it offers more space and a nicer interior
Resale value?
Can you do a coupe version of this video? I hate SUV’s.
Make honda e longer range and it will be great
Kona has been out a couple of months already and you talk as if its not out yet. how old is this video?
The base model bolt ev is under 30k and the 2023 models are still available until they’re sold out this year. It’s the best one. Huge downvote.
Where are you going to charge the EV if you are living in an apartment complex?
Kona is best
The word cheap take on a new meaning?
this should be called here "Let me show you the EV's they pay us to sell!"they may only get 60,000 miles before they are trashed but what do you expect me to get up and walk ?
Any new ev's under 10,000 usd?
Hyundai kia , the best
Dead Bolt 🤣🤣🤣
I will never be able to afford an electric car. So am I being discriminated against? Only the rich survive.
They’re all lying about range and charge times and cost. Just a con
the first one is 32000 and it is a tiny copper, you are not doing your JOB!
Wait for NACS / 2025.
Really no point, get a vehicle you actually like. In a couple months all us CCS people will be using NACS. If you get a NACS native vehicle you'll be carrying a CCS and J1772 adapter anyway.
How quickly will CCS be neglected after 2025?@@carlfe4891
AS IF EDMUNDS RANGE TESTS IS MORE ACCURATE THAN HYUANDAI LMAO
So he has sat in a couple of these junk piles that cannot start! tell me everyone does that make you want to buy this car?what is chevy hiding??????
you have to be a complete fool to buy one of these
Electric car is like selling your gasoline, golf cart and buying electric golf cart. It’s something to play with for fun but I wouldn’t want one is my main car the only way I would even consider having one is get it cheap for a second vehicle and just to play with I wouldn’t want to count on it
EV's are all cheap junk. EV's, an illogical solution to an imaginary problem
