crazy how a lot of people don’t catch that when Korra was near the cliff she was contemplating suicide since she felt she wouldn’t be a complete avatar. That’s also why she tried to leave Mako so it would be easier to say goodbye.

@Alexis Montaño exactly. I mean look at how everyone referred to her throughout the season. She was always "the Avatar," even before she left the North Pole. I read somewhere of the comparisons between Aang and Korra. Aang was a person learning to become the Avatar. Korra was the Avatar learning to be a person, essentially.

I love how Bumi closely resembled King Bumi as and adult and the name fits so well since they shared the same wild personality. Aang chose the best name to give him. Also given the Aang and Bumi were childhood friends before Aang got frozen in ice, and Bumi was still alive and kicking even after Aang returned. And also Kaya is just like Katara with but with more sass, and has the same brother/sister banter with Bumi like Katara and Sokka.

I love how Amon sheds a tear before his brother kills them both, a subtle way to convey that because of his father's lust for vengeance his sons were stripped of a happy life and that all Amon wanted was to live a normal life again with his brother.
Also a small part of me doesn't like how easy it was for Korra to get her bending back, I feel like it should've ended with her talk with Aang but because she's blocked off from the spiritual side of being the Avatar, she needs to earn her bending back and that would tie into Book 2 where she goes on a spiritual journey to regain her stolen elements

Some of you remarked that it felt like a series finale, well in truth it was written as one. They weren't picked up for another season until after the entire season had been made and mostly aired. Soon after they were notified about season 2 they were informed about seasons 3 and 4 so the writing for the subsequent seasons took on more long term story telling.

@@qstar1237 each form of bending corresponds to a different chakra. Which are the pools of chi in the body the paths flow through. Most likely Amon used his blood bending chi blocking to block off the earth water and fire chakra but didn’t bother blocking air since korra hadn’t exhibited any air bending ability previously and he wasn’t planning on letting her have the chance to learn it later. He was a little arrogant in that regard by not just going the full measure but a bit of arrogance fits his character.

I seriously think the second season with the whole 1st avatar, explanation of where the avatar state came from, and the fight between the literal embodiments of good and evil could’ve been perfect, and if executed correctly, could’ve been one of the best seasons in the entire avatar franchise (heavily on “if executed correctly”). But season 3 in my opinion was the best season of LOK, so I’m glad the show didn’t end after season 1. Season 3 of LOK imo is almost as good as season 3 of Alta.

@@ToonMageChannel because that's not what's been shown in their world history. Sure his wife's death was what lead to his decision, but look at the entire history of their world. All the conflicts start and end w/ benders. To her father, benders are a corruption with the world and the ones that *are* bad do nothing but terrorize innocent people. Meanwhile, the ones that are good seem to only think of themselves. Look at the world leaders, all benders.
It's this same concept (in other words, scapegoating) that's used to drive racial/gender/sexual/class separations amongst people in real life.
We, as an audience, *know* that Korra and her friends are right and are the good guys. However, to Asami's father, he feels as though his daughter was betrayed by the same type of people that took his wife/her mother. It's especially telling that he's an older person (ie, boomers) who has a rougher time understanding the differences.
It's one of the few things that I feel the Korra did better than ATLA did and it's a shame it's all swept under the rug after this season.
