About The Carol Burnett Show
While there’s no truth to the rumor that “CBS” ever stood for The Carol Burnett Show, for eleven seasons and 278 episodes, this star-studded extravaganza of sketch comedy, song and dance became entertainment central for the network and TV viewers. Burnett operated in a relaxed theater setting that allowed her to take questions, cut loose with her famous Tarzan yell and join fellow performers Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, Vicki Lawrence and Lyle Waggoner to have a laugh or sing a song. The show received 25 Emmy Awards and eight Golden Globes, making it one of the most honored shows in television history.

Dear Carol, perhaps you read this: thanks for everything!!
Wonderful work, great crew, delightful moments! Till today, till Europe.
The show is contemporary, a piece of that feeling of `home, those were the days`. In the same time it seems so modern and timeless, so it is always a surprise that it´s quite a couple of days ago.
To all of you: Thank you very much! Big hug!
The last segment with Carol as charwoman is so serene and heartfelt. Gosh, how sweet she is.
Loved this show as a child of the sixties....I would get out of bed every Thursday night at 8 p.m. sneak behind the couch....my parents would pretend they didn't see me....and let me watch.....Great memories warms my heart that I found her again thank you....and those outfits love ❤️ 💙 😊
Watching this back in the day, I felt a bit lonely and empty when Carol left the almost empty theater, after saying goodbye to the cast. Even several decades later, when I'm seeing all the shows being put on youtube, I still feel that bit of lost and lonely feeling as she sang to the empty theater. So glad the shows are being placed on youtube when generations will be laughing for a long while.
Amen.!!!!! You put it beautifully. And you really appreciate the meaning of the song as well. Great respects to the songwriter.!!
Me too. I can't watch it too many times.
Same feeling I got watching it
No matter how talented & famous a person is their past is still there.
Carol Knows How to give Everyone the Best Jokes and Fun , Comedy Ever !
The scene in the restaurant with Carol & Harvey, Harvey singing Cheek to Cheek & Carol trying to run away, very hilarious 😂 😃
Can't believe they are thumbs down on Carol Burnett. Unbelievable. She's an awesome icon ❣️❣️
They must have received an obscene phone call and hung up within 10 seconds.
They are probably miserable people
Probably millennials 🙄
Each generation gets worse and worse today this generation has no respect for anything
@@jamessimpson422
Part of it is us to blame. I learned that from co-workers in grocery store. His grandparents generation from the old country in Europe. They settled in the midwest. They would used/cook, eat almost every part of chicken, duck, beef and pork. For the love of our kids, we bought and eat only fillet mignon, ribeye, chicken breast or thigh without skin, etc.
Carol knows how to put people at ease. Great personality trait.
What are you referring to? The thumbs down are no longer shown.
I always loved Carol Barnett . My parents watched her all the time and being a child watching her was such good fun .
They said it was too
The outfits Carol dazzled in every night of the show are truly timeless. They would still look totally Stunningly charming for any occasion. I just hope the designer received fair money for his exotic designs. Awesome! 🥰👌🏻
Bob Mackie…he also designed some of Cher’s costumes.
I never knew who made those outfits. My Mom used to say about Carol Burnett: She always dresses so nice. When Carol Burnett said all the outfits were designed by Bob Mackie & when She said that Bob Mackie used to make 50 outfits per show that blew me away. 50 outfits each show × how many shows a year × 11years, it's hard to come up with a real number
I only saw her in a black and white TV back in the 70's so this is a great rerun!
@@jamesniezgoda5454 Bob Mackee got a lot of reference from Carol. His name was a household word too.
@@jamesniezgoda5454 The wore his outfits several times, just switched it up. Including the dancers. The dancers alone would be 20 or more outfits, and he had staff who helped. What a great designer he was. A real treasure.
Beautiful finale. Bravo Carol and company! ❤❤❤
I love Carol Burnett next to Lucy's Ball l think it's hard to choose, thanks Carol for all the laughs you have give all of us.
Omggggg I broke out in deep laughter when she screamed while being pulled to the stuffed chairs.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
SO. MANY. SPARKLES!!!
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Bob Mackie was a genius! 🤩
Love love you baby
Baby love baby Miss miss miss you miss baby you baby
God the ending of this episode just makes you want to cry so much. This wasn’t even the last season, they were just barely getting started! But so many good memories, and the full version of the theme sung so bittersweetly and beautifully… it makes a deep and filling melancholy in your stomach like grieving a loved one’s death. So powerful. ❤️
Excellent arrangement of the song.!!!! Great songwriter.!!!!
Yes, especially because a few of them have past away now. There's so much life and laughter and love in this show coupled by a deep understanding of 'real life' in the outro song. Both laughter and tears have a place in life and are equally important.
I'm sitting here crying, and so homesick at age 73! I was a teenager watching with my mom and dad. But now I know I'm not alone. God bless
@@voyaristika5673 Yes!! As the song says, “That’s why I’m glad we had this time together; ‘cause it makes me feel that I belong.” ❤️
I've watched this several times. Each time it made my eyes watery. Thank you, Carol! And thank you, CZcams!
I'm a simple person. I see a new Carol Burnett upload, I click!
Love her!
Me too! 👍
Me too plus I have many of Her DVD'S. I love the fact that CZcams plays these episodes & we have a choice to click it or not

She created an amazing career for her self in a time it wasn't easy for women comedian.
She was already a veteran TV performer with a 10-year CBS contract when she exercised the option for a weekly variety show. The network tried to talk her out of it, but she was adamant. Huge success for both of them.
I loooooove all the shows, thanks Carol you make life more funny with all the laughter.....much appretiated....
Love you Carol Burnett!❤❤❤❤
Love Carol and staff she always makes me happy
Thank you, once again!
That pink dress is gorgeous
Gorgeous caftan. Another Mackie I bet ? All I could ever afford was a Barbie Mackie outfit.
Thank you for these videos. Loved the show as a kid - really really appreciate the humour as an old fart !
that caftan!! I would wear it today! Wonder what happened to all her clothes...
Bob Mackies designs are timeless! one is more gorgeous than the next , to this day they're in style.
I have a B.M. t-shirt by Penneys, Montgomery Ward or Sears. It really is a gem, with an egytian design. That is as close as i'll ever get to owning one.
And indeed, he created some legendary styles for
these ladies. !!!!
The orchestration on that flamenco cut, was nothing short of spectacular!!!!!!
The dancers were amazing as well. Incredible talent that "we all took for granted" back then.
Compared to what "nothing" talent there is nowadays.!!!!
You are So Right ! This is a Marvelous Dance and shows such great Energy !
It’s hard to believe Carol is 90! I still see her at this age here
What fun! Exercise should be fun. My mom had us kids exercising to Jack LaLane in our pj's as kids.
L o v e ALL The Shows season 1-11
She's a legend!
Wonderful, I'm searching for this sketch about "burst into song and nobody wondering" since I first saw it. Absolut marvelous as all the parodies about movie and musical. I'm so glad, my English is good enough to understand the most of it. It's a great pleasure to see all those full shows I couldn't see as a kid in East Germany.
Herr Beyer, thanks for posting here. You're a survivor. I admire that greatly. Be well.
I love t I miss you
Will we ever see this level of class and talent again? I somehow doubt it which is a significant loss to us all. Lucy may have been the Queen of comedy by Carol Burnett was, is, and will always be the Princess. Thanks Carol for the laughs, the ability to make us all believe in something better, and yes, a tear or two. You will always be watched in my family and never forgotten.
how beautiful costume, wig, set design, every time.
Love the yellow dress
An episode of the Carol Burnett Show always brightens my day, thank you!!! 👍👍🙂
F the girl iuuuu I Miss love love
Just like I Love Lucy👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
My reply was a response to Christopher.
From Girl Scout cookies to Streetlight Serenading men...😆😂😎
I loved the Carol Barnett show. This brings back a lot of good memories. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
I've been looking for the cheek to cheek scene for a while now, I love it.
As always I want to thank you for posting Full Episodes. It's much appreciated.
The ending is so bittersweet
And if you noticed, the end of this episode of The Carol Burnett Show ended up having a slight bearing with how the series eventually ended in 1978....Carol singing to the studio by herself.
But here, the audience, minus the security guy, wasn't there. In the series finale, the audience was full.
X-)
This episode aired quite a few years ago.
MAX MILLER, you are fondly remembered here.❤
You know she’s actually very cute with long hair. That short hair ages her drastically. As short hair always does
She is a beautiful brunette
A FULL EPISODE that really IS a full episode, instead of the falsely claimed "full" episodes of the past few weeks.
They can't control what songs are copyright protected today; some episodes have to be edited. If that bothers you, there must be other TV venues/platforms where you can watch complete and uncut episodes of Carol's show. Just be prepared to pay for them or to endure a bunch of commercials.
@@eduardo_corrochio Yes, I realize that, but I would appreciate honesty rather than being misled with a false "Full Episode" description. It wouldn't hurt to tell us exactly which song or songs were removed due to rights issues.
@@ChrisHansonCanada You're right. It is misleading to call it a Full Episode if it's got a chunk taken out.
God I was so happy to find Carol on You Tube. This was my Mom's favorite show back in the day, and watching it together was one of our things. Well Mom passed away in 2013, and at first I could'nt watch it. But I finally was able to again a few years ago, and now in 2023, I'm enjoying it so much. It'll never be the same as watching it with her. but it IS alot of fun and brings back so many memories. This is fantastic and I'm grateful for whoever put these on You Tube.
That my lady !!!! She have laughing 😆
Loved the longer version of the theme song.
What a poetic epilogue.
Someone please tell me that was only a prop violin that didn't play anyway! But whichever, this was hilarious!!!
My all time favorite! ❤
"Knock on wood!"
Ladies and gentlemen at the 39:02 mark you witnessed the first Twerking allowed on television
Who had the June Taylor dancers back in the day?
I love Carol!
The June Taylor Dancers were on the Jackie Gleason Show.
@@blisteredblues1255 It's funny the things you remember and don't know why LOL

I miss good entertainers and good shows like this it’s a shame we have nothing but garbage on TV now!
Please put original air date in description!
I wonder what happened to all of Carol's clothes she wore on the show.
Me too🥰

Nice
So sad the end . But what did u ppl expect? For the show to run forever ?
❤
Jajajajjque graxiosossss!!!!🤣🤣🤣

Greetings from Bridgeport Connecticut
Jennifer Saunders semi-stole this skit (sort of) for one of her absolutely fabulous AbFab episodes 😄. But not really I think. Jen simply paid homage to Carol Burnett, one of the most awesome originals. Love Carol, Jennifer (Eddy), Joanna (Patsy), all irreplaceable funny ladies. And most of all, Lucille Ball ❤
Some jerks r never happy
Que linda👍
i am not joking, i have max's pants and shoes lol not the actual articles, but the same style.
Yep, me and my wife
So Clive Kensington was another forerunner to Funt & Mundane, now? Interesting. And they used the same Majestic Theatre pic at the beginning of most every installment.
😊
👍👍👍👍👍👍
🤣🤣🤓
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Did they say Sabrina Hackmeister 😆
Thank you for posting, but Vicki should really come before Tim Conway in the description since she was a regular first... This episode is from April 27, 1970.... a bit early to end a season I thought.
Well, I think Harvey, Tim, & Lyle should be listed before everyone because they are dead. Seriously, you have some serious issues if you nitpick about something as dumb as the order of names in the description. Geesh!
Here's an early end to a TV season....in the U.S., TV seasons for the major networks go from September to May. But for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Canada(Canada's Public Broadcaster, owned by the Government of Canada), their TV seasons last from October-April.
The reason for that is, in April, the CBC starts it's annual tradition of Spring, which is the 2-month marathon that is the National Hockey League Stanley Cup Playoffs. As a result, usually on the 1st Friday in April, the CBC has to have it's last few season/series finales aired out to Canada, because the following Wednesday, the Playoffs get underway.

Commercial Abuse!!! I agree with a modicum of commercial use to support programs....but too many commercials spoil the show!!!
Less than tv. You can skip the ads after 5 secs. I think the total for this vid was 30 secs. Hope this helps. I can't gripe about these free videos. A real breath of fresh air in these very weird times.
Nice outfits, dancing...now mostly trash
During these times of Pandemia, a show as this takes away the anxieties and daily issues of every day life, even if it's just for a moment.
