I sold yoga spandex to Charles Thompson (Frank Black) lead singer of the Pixies about eight months ago at the sporting goods store I work at. He was very kind and humble and I was completely starstruck. I told him I was a fan and he responded with "well today I'm just a fat guy buying yoga clothes!" 😂. A moment I won't soon forget.
Tigerbelly still has the best camera setup of any podcast.

Pixies are one of those bands where every single song is good to me. They are my absolute favorite and I can say with like 85% certainty that I have the lyrics to every song ingrained in my mind. You just can’t beat them.

@@henrybemis3439 I saw them live in Tulsa in 2010. I was in the 4th row right in front of Joey. They played the entire Doolittle album start to finish + some b-sides. Best concert ever.

I once watched the pixies in concert and was kinda bummed since Frank didn't seem into it. Half way through the set this guy starts living up the stage and getting the crowd into it. Thanks for that Joey!

For a huge Pixies fan, this was a surprise and a treat, thanks guys!!! Also I was obsessed too Bobby. This first band I played in, was basically a pixies cover band. My first tattoo was the flying “P” done with a homemade gun, cost me a joint. And without realizing, my guitar playing is heavily influenced by Joey. Love them so much!

I had the pleasure of meeting Joey, Dave, Frank and Paz last year here in Dublin city. They were super nice especially Francis and Joey, got a picture with them and a record signed! Also great podcast guys, I've watched 3 full episodes today alone.
Omg! As an OG Pixies fan since 1989, I was mortified for Bobby when Kalayla said Bobby didn't go to the Pixies show because Kim was not playin!!! I gasped!!!! I was like, oh no!!!!!! Now I can't stop laughing. I felt for you Bobby! I was at the Dodger Stadium show with The Cure, The Pixies and Love and Rocket. I had just graduated high school!

words cannot describe how comforting it feels hearing that us misophoniacs aren't alone. I know they were laughing and it was a light hearted conversation, but we are.. literally living in agony every day. for me, my own chewing also triggers me, so I have to watch something/ listen to music with the volume blaring for every. single. meal. I am in constant fight or flight, on edge waiting to hear a trigger. I am 19 and I've suffered since age 6. if you're reading this & you have it, I highly recommend joining a misophonia support group, there are several on FB with 40,000+ members.

Saw the Pixies a few years back in San Jose the crowd was kinda dead so me and my friend started dancing and got people moving. One dude told us there needs to be more people like us at shows. A few months later that same friend passed from an overdose and I always think back to that night and how much fun we had. Epic guest Tigerbelly!

I genuinely feel bad for Joey with his sound phobia (the chewing thing) as someone who once struggled with intrusive thoughts and irrational fears and felt like I was losing my mind my heart seriously goes out to him. I would recommend meditation, therapy, maybe counting to ten when you're stressed out. There's all sorts of coping mechanisms out there. Things like that can get in your head and bother you for a long time but you can get past them and when you do you realize it was never a big deal and you're free. Good luck bro.

When I was a kid, a very young teen, I was a huge fan of Nirvana. I read an article where Kurt Cobain mentioned Pixies as one of his influences or favorite bands, so I picked up Doolittle and Surfer Rosa. Amazing music. Just stupid original and so extremely unique and creative it blew me away. Been a fan ever since. I love those guys!
