A "Right" is a subjective term. To you, I or any human we would consider a right a right. But, I can tell you that YOUR Right isnt one, it's a priviledge. It's about perspective, one mans right is another mans opinion regarding that right. That's where the law stands, it's in "their opinion" that your right isnt one. It's a sad but true way of life that our court systems are unjust. Only a political revolution or war on our homefront could change that standpoint. But I dont see that happening anytime.

Throughout Texas, anyone with a felony conviction must uphold his or her obligation to protect his or her family and property with a gun. You are required to own them, and no judge can adjudicate any laws regarding these rights today. The only caveat is that you must carry on an empty chamber if a revolver, and place semiautomatic weapons on safety and secure them in holsters or at the small of your back in your waistband. That's how the laws here in TX are. Hope I've helped.

Ironically if i remained clear of any convictions, that following month i would've been cleared to get my CPL 😒 so now im close to the end of my probation but i have to wait and remain clear of all and any bullshit for five years. My lawyer said it would cost upwards of 5000 to 10000 bucks to get the felony expunged from my record. He said if he's still around that he would do it for 1000 but who's to tell what could happen in 5 years. 14 months ago I was doing laundry before work when I noticed a large man picking on a little lady I moved in to defuse the situation and he began to bully me I tried walking away and he followed me and started touching me he then went after the lady as she exited the establishment yelling at her and hitting her window with his fist and cursing her as she drove away he then came back at me again and I kept telling him to stop and not to come near me but he kept getting closer, drooling, and snarling, with more hate, and anger than i've ever seen before in my life. I stood there, yelling at him to go away, and when he got arms distance from me I punched him three times in his face. the man was twice my size and I was very concerned for not only my own safety, but that of others as well. I let him get up and he called the police I was charged with Mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon I plead not guilty and waited in jail for 5 months.the judge suggested that I not testify on my own behalf so I did as he suggested and did not testify they refused my character witness and used my mother without my permission or consent they instructed my mother not to say anything about the fact I've never been arrested before and that I've been a security guard for the past 7 years I was convicted of assault inflicting great bodily injury and sentenced to two years in State Prison I did 9 months and I just got out on good behavior and I still don't see why they would want to ruin my life over this when I was just trying to help. Im glad that im alive, and everyone is ok i still feel so super violated by the system. It's insane.

I have felonies in CA last one being in 1985. I was struck out in 1996 and given 25 to life for a misdemeanor. I did 18 years and by the grace of God , CA voters amended the 3X law to apply only to those it was originally supposed to be for, child molesters, murderers, or any serious crime that would carry a life sentence like kidnapping. Anyway, in 2013 I was one of 12 people on my prison yard that was released. I was released on July 25th 2013. I originally came to AZ to visit my mom and brother when they asked me to stay. So I stayed and since 2013 I have had no police contact, have graduated with an AAS Degree in Sociology with my specialty being Drug and Alcohol substance abuse and Prevention. I'm thinking of going back to school at ASU to get my Masters Degree. I've Volunteered at the community food bank and other volunteer work. I know it would be virtually a miracle but need to try to get my rights back in Arizona. I shouldn't have my rights taken away for life and don't believe the founders meant for that to occur. If you can help please send me a reply. I'm a Vietnam Era Army Veteran and never as much as given anyone, while committing a crime, a nose bleed, man or woman. At the moment, I receive a VA Pension and have been disabled since 2013, actually way before but didn't count while incarcerated. Thank you
Btw, All my convictions were in CA 1970's, 1980's and the misdemeanor in 93..

When I was 17 years old back in January 2000 I was arrested for An aggravated assault w/ deadly weapon in Lockhart,Tx. I ended up accepting 7 years deferred adjudication probation out of that whole ordeal being that I had never been in any major trouble prior and I completed the whole 7 years without getting into any trouble other than a class c misdemeanor. Fast forward to March 2015 (8yrs after completing probation) I walk into a pawn shop here in Houston where I live (born&raised) and attempt to purchase a 9mm pistol but get a "delay". The pawnshop manager tells me to come back in a few days to give the NICS (the national instant criminal background check) time to get back to the pawnshop with an answer to either proceed with the purchase or deny me. I come back and get denied. Pawn shop manager gives me a card with the NICS transaction number that would have a website link to appeal the denial of an applicant. I do a little bit of homework and basically had to send the FBI a copy of the court papers saying I completed my deferred adjudication probation term successfully. Also, I had to submit finger prints to the FBI too so I went down to the local police station in Humble,Tx where I was living at the time and got the fingerprints done for free. Submitted the paperwork and fingerprints and 6 months later in September 2015 I receive the best news, I can go back to that pawnshop to legally buy a firearm or elsewhere. It only costed me a little time and effort to do my homework and see what paperwork was needed and only paid about $5 to have the county clerk in Lockhart, TX send me my paper work. Been buying firearms ever since. Only thing is now is that I can't get a CHL in Texas due to some state laws and federal laws kinda contradicting each other. Oh well. I'm fine with legally concealed carrying it in my truck for now. Hope this helps someone out there in a similar situation.
