They drafted an ILB in the 3rd back to back years and you’re saying Nieman will start, Colson or Henley will start. And Kenneth Murray was awful, it’s an upgrade easily! Also, Will Clapp was a horrible Center, only thing he was good for was memes with his name, Bozeman huge upgrade! And how is DJ Chark a push with Mike Williams? Williams is far better when healthy! Lastly, Ekeler was horrible last year and Edwards/Dobbins combo is a big upgrade
Thank you also they overate our we room last year cuz we had Allen gone for 5 games, Palmer missed time, Mike Williams missed time, Everett and eckeler missed time. Basically everyone but Allen was consistent so I don’t think we’re that bad receiving wise

they already have confirmed henley will be the starter with perryman.
kenneth murray was good last year. it's 100% a downgrade. and bozeman was rated as one of the worst centers in the league last year. not a huge upgrade but he was at least on a terrible oline so he should be better

ILB roster in video is incorrect. Henley will be over Neimann and Colson will be over Perryman. It’s an upgrade over Murray and Kendricks for sure.
Perryman is depth anchor and Neimann is special teamer primarily.
Hard to throw when your hands are broken
Everyone wants to rag on the WR room, but the combination of everyone projected on the roster is better than any of the depth we had when Mike and Keenan were constantly injured the past two years and still made the playoffs in 2022.

As a chargers fan, Everett is a stud. Man turned a 2 yard check down into a 5 yard gain regularly
Hurst is a better blocker but Gerald was a straight dawg. Everytime he touched the ball he broke tackles.

Floor 5-12 ceiling 9-8. Injury prone players in key positions and poor drafting for the last 3 - 4 years. Just a mid season injury to Herbert and this team loses out.

Great video. As a charger fan, the key word this season is patience. Haven't had a proven head coach in a while it feels like (just coordinators that we had "a good feeling about"). I'm excited to see what Harbaugh can do, and I'm happy to give him time to create his team. Given that last year 7/12 loses were by a field goal or less, I feel pretty confident he can make something of this team. Our ceiling this season feels like a wild card but hopefully I'm wrong. #boltup

What is funny? He may surprise people, but will have to prove he belongs. So far in training camp he's looking pretty good. Not dropping a bunch, and seems to be looking the ball into his hands. The real improvement need is in his route running. He telegraphed his routes last year. Hopefully they can coach him into a good route runner. That will gain some separation.
They go 9-8 and take one of the WC spots from a deserving AFC-N team, the weapons narratives are overblown given William's health last season, and Allen was more of a safety net than anything sustainably dominant. The run-first, egalitarian offense is going to work

LBs will be Junior Colson fs and hopefully Henley. Pipkins finna slide to RG and jk dobbins is electric (hopefully stays healthy). With a more run balance offense they have better blocking TEs, and I think the WR room will be scrappy and better than expected, thanks to scheme. Realistically looking at about 9-10 Ws
So far Harbaugh and his crew has been a breath of fresh air for a franchise gasping for coaching. I expect that will continue with a cake schedule to give them real big sleeper potential

As a Chargers fan, WR was the only unit downgraded. A grade offseason for sure, + we added a real coach. I dont have high expectations yr 1, but things could get interesting ⚡️⚡️⚡️

@@YessirMikeDeanYessir I disagree they got worse on both ends. Their O-Line was bad and should be better with a new Center and adding Joe Alt. D-Line was crazy last season and has gotten even better (2nd year Tui and Dupree joining + Mack and Bosa). They lost two talented but injury prone WR's in Williams and Allen but Herbert had crazy stat seasons when Williams and Allen weren't playing. Their run game was non-existent last season and should definitely be improved this season with a better O-Line and bigger RB's. I think they're equal to the talent from last season but a huge improvement at coach, so I'm optimistic they will be above 500.
@@devincox3441our edge group is great but the actual interior d line is looking like the worst in the league. We still need a cb 1 and we also need a true wr1. The running backs should be solid but that’s if they stay healthy which is why they probably drafted Kimani Vidal just in case one of them go down. O line is good but we did downgrade at center. I’ll say our floor is 8 wins and ceiling would be 12 wins
LB Junior Colson will start with perryman by him... chargers have one of the easiest schedule with an upgrade like harbaugh that should be a 9 or 10 win team...biggest weakness is DBs and DT

Herbert did not regress, he was playing injured during a 4 week stretch of going against the top pass defenses in the league. Outside of that stretch, he was once again incredible

Kenneth Murray and Kendricks sucked balllllllssssss. Either that or they couldn’t understand Staley’s scheme which is fair enough. Murray frequently got washed away on runs, took bad angles towards the ball, and was stationary in zone coverage. So many games were blown because of his lack of stopping the run and not covering players in his zone. Kendricks is unfortunately past his prime and will be serviceable in a Denzel Perryman role for a team. MLB will most likely be Colson and Perryman on obvious run plays/situations while Henley/Nieman sub in for Perryman on 3rd down/passing situations. Honestly any of these guys are an upgrade over the past two players. Overall I agree with the prediction and it really doesn’t change much unless Colson and Henley are huge contributors. I think 9-8 or 8-9 is realistic. Hoping for around 10-11 wins tho.
This can be an 11 game winning squad for it being year one. I remember Harbaughs magic in sf so I know this will be a year to remember for us Chargers fans.

I’m predicting 36+ sacks this season and a 11-6 or 12-5 record. Definitely a playoff team and possibly Harbaugh as Coach of the Year if we get two wins in the postseason
Ladd McConkey is not a down grade!! Ladd is going to be a problem for defenses!! This take of your's is not going to age well. McConkey is an elite route runner that going to be Justin Herbert's favorite target. Also, Ladd McConkey, future Walter Payton man of the year. Great player and even better man.

If you guys liked Kennan Allen you are going to love Ladd. He's shifty, quick, finds the soft spot in the defense. Ladd played both sides of the ball in highschool, he knows the offense and defense. This is coming from a Chiefs fan who wanted him on the Chiefs so badly. I can't wait to see him play. Congratulations Chargers, you got my draft pick.

Too Early. And you do not factor in coaching last year AND this year (now Harbaugh & team) -- nor understand the GM change.. You seem to have little understanding of why certain players were cut or traded, and why others were drafted and signed: to fit into the Harbaugh Way.
That's the whole point... it's prediction and projection. Harbaugh just wants to run and that's fine; however, you need the passing attack to compliment it... which they don't have.

Where are LB’s Henley and Junior Colson? RB room is a big upgrade! I disagree about a downgrade at TE, much better blocking TE’s and Hurst is a push at catching TE.
The so called regression of Herbert when he had the 5th best QBR last year and he had 4 less total TD's than Mahomes playing 4.5 games less and 6 less than Tua the passing leader with the so called best offense in the league is ridiculous.
True it hasn't been an explosive offense with all the injuries the last few years.
Perryman & Henley with Colson will be the LB's and will be an upgrade from last year.
Pretty good video but You're underestimating the linebacker position depth and Junior colson will be a starter. The LB from Michigan who captained the Minter defense last year.
The projection isnt bad but the roster breakdown is terrible. Chargers upgraded at center and linebacker no question. Interior Dline is the only group in question that I agree with.

Realistically they could be terrible or really good. Probably won’t win the division unless they’re crazy good but I can definitely see a solid wild card finish. Too many unknowns to be certain.
This forecast is too optimistic. Chargers are preseason darlings every single season and have done nothing. Zero reason to believe that D is any good. No faith in management there. Staley should have been fired years ago

No coach goes all the way in the first year. I expect more balance and an actual defense. With all those big names on defense, how did the "Defensive guru" head coach screw things up. 49ers fans he's yours to screw things up now. Herbert threw to Palmer just fine without Allen or a run game. They should be fine. QJ may not get a starting spot with all the new WR prospects.
i feel like since hurst/dissley likely will be used more as blockers than recievers, it wouldnt be fair to call them downgrades. plus gut feeling says Herbert wont make the same mistake throwing to a gassed out tight end in the redzone costing us a KC home upset.
I'm a KC fan but i Know that Harbaugh is gonna have them playing good ball.. we see what happens next few seasons! GO CHIEFS!

The only thing the chargers got worse at is receiver. Everything else is a push or an improvement. Also brandon staley was VERY bad so coaching is a HUGE improvement

Rams ownership cant stand Dean Spanos and Kroenke hates the Chargers playing in the Rams stadium especially for $1 a year.They will never fill Sofi like they did in San Diego before Spanos started playing relocation games with SD fans. granted, we have no idea how the receivers will do, or really the running game. But, based on past performance, the running game should be much better. at least as long as they stay healthy. Hopefully the receivers wont be bad. one thing they do have over last years receivers is SPEED. And, expecting the defense to be better.

+7 over previous season is what Harbaugh did for the 49ers 13 years ago. Not saying it will happen again this year but it's definitely doable if the team plays to their strengths...and never gets injured. I have a problem with the fact that we are predicted on the high end to start 9-0. That's rich even for a Swiss bank account. Defending home against the chiefs is tough since we haven't done that in the Mahomes era. Sweeping any team in the division hasn't happened for us since 2018. I could see the team starting 9-3 with losses to KC, TEN, and BAL. In return, getting wins against CIN, ATL, and KC down the stretch since the chargers have a winning record against CIN with a 3-4 defensive scheme (last CIN win was 2015), the chargers fair better in KC compared to home since 2014, and have won the last 3 matchups against ATL. Overall ceiling is 12-5. I don't expect to win the division based purely on a potential 3-3 division record and I expect KC to have a 4-2 or 5-1 division record.

@David-eh3ht I'm being realistic. This is the first year with a real head coach. The defense has upgraded and already had the talent to be a top 5 defense each year with staley as coach but he had no idea what he was doing with the talent. The offensive line has upgraded not to mention the blocking tight ends and blocking power running backs that they have added to the offense. And the new lineup of recievers that have been added. Although they are new. They have justin herbert throwing them the football. So for all these experts saying that the chargers have one of the weakest reciever groups in the league is laughable. Nobody has seen what this group of recievers are capable of.And when they do they will be astounded. Ladd mcconkey is going to be to justin herbert what edellman and welker was to brady. The ultimate 3rd down conversion machine. And palmer has already had shown glimpses of greatness. And most importantly now going to play physical with an attitude and not the flamboyant gameplay as in the past. Mark my words this team is going to knock the opponents into next week.

I'm sorry, unproven? Herbert led the chargers to the playoffs without Keenan and Mike and a subpar o line. The o line got stronger and Palmer is proven to reliable. McConkey just might be a runnerup for rookie of the year but it'll go to a QB.

The Raiders have an elite defense, they didn't get worse offensively and they earned 8 wins last season. Chargers had 5 with a vastly superior roster
