The reason we do not have an SST is cost to operate . Now not even the Europeans have one .

America 🇺🇸 didn’t fail, they complained about noise. They ultimately built an aircraft that was bigger & faster than the Concorde, but the routes it was to be used on simply weren’t viable.

Boeing had mockups of it, but never built it.

Where is it indicated the L-2000 would be noisier?

Those videos of "sonic booms" aren't sonic booms. The one blowing limbs off of trees is just the air coming from the jet's passage. At that altitude, you would hardly see the plane pass if it was at supersonic speeds.

FYI, you can thank Russia 🇷🇺 for the high cost of Titanium. They were the primary source of it due to it not being manufactured domestically.

The SST failed because it was not profitable nor practical ... the Europeans found this out the hard way.

    Concord was a financial failure.

AB is owned by EADS which is owned by 3 European governments. They paid for the 380 program which went way over budget and it also was a financial failure.

Boeing actually won by cancelling the SST. The Concorde was an utter hugely expensive failure and meanwhile the 747 brought down air fares by 50% and was the first aircraft people could get into and fly anywhere else which is why 80% of the human has been transported on at least 1 during most of the program lifetime
