My two parrotlets are also very territorial and will give you some good nips if in or near their cages, but once they are away from them they are gentle and don't bite. They are just too cute to look at and play with.
The behaviour of displaying aggression is usually a sign the bird is not happy or can be diet and hormones. These birds need a lot of care, mental stimulation as they get bored easily then become aggressive. If they have enough stimulation and toys/games to play, plenty of time outside the cage every day they are usually sweet birds.
My parrolet is so moody no effection no love she just sits in her cage no matter how much i try she wont come to me and only lets me know when she wants food
that was me with my parakeet who died a month ago😖anyways so try to not feed her for a couple hours and then put her food in ur palm and she will have to jump on ur hand to eat. and try to remain calm also my parrotlet LOOOOVES to be scratched on her head. also take her out of the cage a lot. btw make sure u r also giving bird a non-seed diet bc bird owners make that mistake which can lead to ur bird’s death so hope that helped!!
@James Cricket thanx for your advice it worked!!! I give he fruits salad along with seeds and now she is not as moody as before but still rather stays in her cage. P.s she likes green chillies too she came down on kitchen worktop were i was chopping up chillies and helped herself. Thankyou for your advice
@@toqeerfatama3113 I think you should get her a partner. Birds are social animals and need another bird. Also she might get more comfortable if she's not alone and maybe more comfortable towards you
@@user-me8hy8ew4o julie had a partner Rio. Poor Rio died after Julie kept attacking him taking his food pecking at him. She been single 4 years now i do wanna get her a partner but nowhere i can find a parrolet local
Some experts on these say its a bad idea to keep 2 together and they can kill each other? They prefer to be alone and have a lot of mental stimulation and time outside the cage with their carers? I guess if you have 2 from babies they might be ok together but I keep hearing putting two strangers together is not good.
Hi I am getting 2 little parotletts in the next few weeks I have lots of knowledge of parrots (worked with them) but I want something small at home I have gone for 2 would you recommend 2 or a single as everytime I ask someone the answer is different x
@@sjsisjsjks No parrots are not flock birds they live alone in the wild and only pair for mating. They sometimes form small groups 2-4 for feeding is all. These birds are well known for being aggressive and territorial to others in the wild and in captivity and sometimes will fight to the death. In the wild will sometimes claim a tree and chase any kind of bird away from it even much larger birds!
I think if they both young and already been raised together in a cage without any issues should be ok, but generally parrotlet's usually live alone as they're not flocking birds. If you put two together not familiar with each other they can become aggressive and fight, even killing each other sometimes.
When I was a kid I had a parotlet who would never let me touch my barbie doll blanket cause he loved it to much XD
sounds like a true parrotlet!
My parrotlet chirped so much while hearing this video. Lol
