Also having to move backwards is much more exhausting than moving forward. And part ifit is justmental, he is willing todig deeper than his opponens, so he drags his opponent in deep enough water where they are no longer willing or able to keep on swimming.

@Bugatti Boss He didnt want to wrestler bc its not that spectacular as stand up but he said that before he faces Khabib he gonna prepare for it. I think he has this months to train and get his wrestling again to an All American level or at least to that point he can defend khabibs takedowns and then they will have to fight in the stand up.

@@realAamirShahzad - This was 2013. Even McGregor went 4 rounds with Khabib without sustaining ANY damage..and Conor is not great on the ground. Justin is going to KO Khabib within the first 3 rounds. Khabib's stand up is about 20% of what Justin can do.

Well he was making a lot of mistakes. Leg kicking and flying knee a grappler with very little mix ups and he took his back. Valid points.
I love watching Gaethje fight man. He has NO fear of throwing leg kicks, because he will just get right back up. No fear of getting knocked out, because he can do the do the same to you at any point. Don't get me wrong, I do like grappling and the whole "Hit and not get hit" stuff too, but sometimes you just wanna see a couple of guys trying to take each others heads off! Lol

Think of what he did to tony striking wise he countered everything extremely clean if khabib tries to come forward with his wild punches gaethje will do real damage. @Robert Cella watch the barboza fight (Im pretty sure he does this in a lot of fights but I just saw this one) he swings wildly because he knows if barboza retaliates he can easily take him down. True he has been very hard to land on but weve never seen him stand up for an entire round without being able to threaten a takedown, If gaethje can stay up for on whole round its new territory for khabib. "Tonys defense to punches is terrible", man was on a 12 fight win streak, beat barboza, cowboy, pettis, rda, lee and he has been cracked but in the gaethje fight he never even was knocked down. Its hard to find holes in khabib because he has been so dominant, but he has been so dominant in only one aspect, if that aspect gets shutout he might have problems.

That's what I was thinking. The whole time im thinking why isn't any one mentioning how maybe his kicks are potentially wearing the other guy down. Justin was looking wild and almost winded but by the 3rd round I couldn't help start thinking this man's leg can't be ok. I didn't think it get that bad but I expected it to get impacted enough to take power from his punches and hinder his offense just enough for justin to land a few in a row or land one of those crazy telegraphed uppercuts lol.
He is dutch and old. We have dutch kickboxing style. The focus is more on technique with a agressive style. Geathje style in this fight was agressive but he telegraphed a lot of punches. But his leg kicks were lethal whole fight. I like geathje style but i think bas wasnt familair with geathje yet. Also it wasnt geathje best fight. His leg kicks were nice and his takedown defense held up. But still he got a lot better. He doesnt wind up that much and puts his combination together nice now.

Commentary was good. Justin was dominated in rd. 1 and announcers had it a round a piece going into the 3rd. What is the complaint? His leg kicks got the job done but he was by no means dominating the fight.

Cobb will date the announcers but they must take turns pushing the wheel chair.

Disappointing commentary. They should have seen that Cobb had very little on his punches once Gaethje started to break down that front leg. The fight was over 2 minutes into the 3rd round. Cobb was game, but he knew it. Gaethje walked through Cobbb's punches, picked him apart, and took every opportunity that presented itself to punish that front leg. Rogan would have seen it.

Bas is more of the Jiu Jitsu and kick boxing type. Boxer/wrestlers like Gaethje are not his cup of tea. I'm a fan of Bas but as a former college wrestler I've always felt if he had some wrestling he would have been unbeatable back in the day.

@Forsaken Pumpkin The illegal kick was clearly accidental. Cobb could have taken more time, and probably should have, or just quit. If the ref was rooting for Justin, he would have stood the fighters up in the first round when Cobb was on top and nothing was happening.

@7:37 a great way to defend punches in this situation is to simply cut down the free hand post they're making. Take the post, you take their ability to throw punches.
