What's going on in Jamaica? I hope the authorities get to the root of this situation. Where did he get the gun? Why did he take it to school? He must be held responsible along with the person from whom he got it. Is gun a part of the tools this boy is supposed to take to school? May God have mercy in Jamaica!
Children have been carrying guns to school to show off to their friends for decades. In the cases I know their parents hadn't secured the gun properly.

Her body was retrieved at another property and she was taken to the Negril Police Station where she asked to use the restroom???? Am I to understand that the body returned to life at the Police Station?
That part got me so confused! I was like what?! Her body was retrieved at a beach of another property but yet she was found in the bathroom at the police station🤔

no. she was staying at one hotel on the beach, went to another hotel on the beach and started acting up. they called the cops on her and the cops took her to the police station.

Why the PainP always want to increase GCT which has a crippling effect on the most vulnerable in Jamaica.
If you increase GCT by 1 percent. Do you realize the reduction in purchasing power for seniors whose only source of income is NIS pension of less than $20,000 per month or parents who earns minimum wage of $60,000 per month.
This proposal to increase GCT is unconscionable considering the high cost of food items in Jamaica.
Why not propose for persons making over $X mil per annum pay additional Y+2% in Education Tax?
One minister is getting 20 million pay package ,why cant some of them give back to EDUCATION.

They need to start making it mandatory to have people doing military service for at least 1 year or 2 to give people discipline. That way kids see the different direction you can go with their lives and the kids in high school would know that after they are finished school they have the mindset that they are going to military school.
The police need to be trained on how to deal with persons with suicidal ideations. This woman should have been taken directly to the hospital not to a police station. Bad enough they took her there but she should have been closely monitored/put on suicide watch. Guess this is a rare occurrence so they were totally unprepared. So sad.

While I agree with Damion Crawford's plan to increase the education tax and monetary support for education in Jamaica, turning to the GCT may be the wrong move. The area targeted may be better done through either tourism or property-related taxes. GCT tax would affect the very margin of persons who need the most help.

I went to a corporate area high school and graduated 2000. It wasnt the worst high school in Kingston but boys bring gun come buss shot pon school compound. Its not a new phenomenon......its just that news travel faster these days.

It starts with the MP of the constituency. How much of them keep meeting regularly with the people or even send their representatives to have meeting with the people to hear their concerns.
Some areas, gunmen, thieves, and robbers, infested the communities, and the good people are held hostage in some places.. To bring back Jamaica to what it once was, we have to re learn what it meant to be a Society...

Y Crawford didn't asked his party when them did in powder to do that for education? No but as it drop now to ease the burden of ppl spending.
It's not a bad things, in the next budget when them get to office,for them say them a go win election.
Mr Crawford indicated that an increase in spending in schools would lead to a reduction in spending in the prisons. If he looked carefully, he'd find more money to move, not only from the prisons but also from policing, from waste & from the increased revenue collected due to tax on inflated prices. I would advise Mr Crawford to wait until he gets into government where he'll be able to properly assess how all his education funds are been spent along with those from all the other ministries. As it is now, only his leader should be better able to tell if there'll be any need to ask the people for any increase in revenue since he's the one who should be coordinating all the watch on all the ministries. Mr Crawford needs to realise that his ministry is only one piece in the jig-saw puzzle, and any increase in his piece would prevent it from fitting and from solving the puzzle.

Westmoreland has become a bloody city the minister of security is doing noting to curtail the crime and violence in the country the state of emergency is a waste of money for years they have been doing it, and it's not working it's only a fool that does the same thing over and over and expect a different result. Both past and present leaders have been doing this why not implement a different system.
