It feels so natural as well. People new to this song can't tell its a remix.

Unlike many remixes that sound disjointed or even awkward, this sounds really organic and Mariah did a great job in utilizing both the lower and higher registers of Ari and JHud in their harmonies.
@@highland_persuasion This what happens when you give full creative control to the artist, leaving out stupid political and money/sponsorship influences. But Mariah the producer, writer, and the singer so this becomes exactly her own vision and nobody else's. Except in this case, obviously, she let Jennifer and Ariana have a lot of input.
@@chrisofstars exactly. Many artists would selfishly keep a disproportionate part of the song for themselves to assert their role in the song. This still plays and feels like a Mariah song, but it doesn't feel overwhelmingly Mariah like she was marking her territory or something. Ari and JHud feel like a part of an awesome trio instead of just guests.
@@highland_persuasion Indeed. My observation is that she cleverly incorporates the two of them to be backup singers at times when it's called for. But they shift from backup to the forefront and back again quite often and very dynamically which is not something you'd normally see from backup vocalists. None of these three are back up singers, however. They function as both soloists and backups simultaneously. It's musically genius and I love it.

Mariah has always been the one more comfortable with her use of the whistle register, she's mastered it that she's more comfortable doing it live than belting, so her doing the higher notes is expected. Ariana's still developing her use of that register which is why she currently doesn't use much of it as much as Mariah does.

Mariah does the high whistle first then when they say santa they flip and ariana does the higher note. If u listen to the isolated whistles, ariana does say santa a little less rounded, which makes sense because she does have some pronounciation issues but shes improved massively since My Everything days
