Some bulged primers and some not bulged would cause me to examine the possibility of rim thickness varience in the ammo you are using. Still, counter boring might be a workable option since you have nothing to lose on this barrel. Slugging the muzzle vs. the breech for wear variance might show muzzle wear from sloppy cleaning rod activity. Best of luck on this one!
I had a number 1 mark 3 that sent from Royal tiger to a guy. I think in South Carolina and he rebarreled it.got a barrel from sarco
and got a beautiful shooting rifle now. But 2 mausersI got from RTI were junk also and I didn't realize it till it was too late At that time they weren't even responding to complaints
I am going to go ahead and vouch for RTI because I got a hell of a good rifle from them when I ordered my Italian Calvary Carcano.
And everything else they carry is overpriced worn out trash.
Try counterboring a little bit, if you still get keyholes

They burned me on an m1917 and a Gras infantry rifle. Got refunded on the Gras, and I am currently an additional $500 deep into the 1917, lol. Never again!
