I know I'm not reaching here I feel like Rogan made a huge deal about this when it was arguably an acceptable decision, he essentially took advantage of Jan's kindness and the fact he was a little confused, I bet watching it back Blachowicz thinks a draw isn't a bad result. I've never seen someone get told "we thought you won, me and the other commentators thought you won" in an octagon interview before like they did with Ankalaev even after terrible robberies. To act like this to Jan especially after how the commentary did him dirty against Adesanya just seems a little sus to me. Hope you guys agree.
He was talking mad shit when Jan was fighting Israel too.
The commentary team is dog shit how they basically try to be the judges in the fight. Just do play by play ffs

So true, the only reason jan said "give him the belt" is because joe started gaslighting the dude. Why didn't he have this same energy when paddy was claiming his fight wasn't even close? that decision was WAY worse than the decision in the main event.
Because he's a coward detached shill. I wish he'd remove himself from the sport entirely. Guys you really think Rogan was going to call out Dana's latest project?

It's fr disgusting. I agree with you. One was close. But I gave Yan the first 3. And I think it's more questionable that round 5 was a 10-8 than that yan won round 1 one. 3-1 yan going into the 5th for me . I'm not even mad about the draw but if it wasn't Yan won.
I thought the EXACT same thing.....1, 2, 3 Jan.....4, 5 Ankalaev......with 5 being arguable, whether it was 10-8 or not.
I definitely saw the 3-2 Jan, he should have won if the 5th wasn't a 10-8. The draw was the right call though
Rogan was way outta line here
@Shaan Naafir My personal opinion is that 5th round was a 10-8. However fans often don't realize how rarely a 10-8 is scored, and how much you need to dominate the round to get that. Given that I can also see how some of the judges can see that round as a 10-9.
It’s Jan not Yan two completely different people
As soon as the fight ended I scored the fight a draw. I didn’t think it was bad at all.

Hot take: draws should be much more frequent occurence in this sport. Literally every questionable decision (which is like 100% of split decisions and big chunk of unanimous ones) should be draws. Maybe then fighters will deliver us fun fights instead of snoozefests, that are happening more and more nowadays.
Several title fights this year should've been draws, imo.
This is a garbage take on so many levels
This is very much a hot take but i do believe there shiuld be 10-10 rounds like i do t like the fact you can knock down someone and win 10-9 then your opp barley beats you the next round and its the same score
@@petar2253 low kicking someone 2 times and then Naruto running whole round should def lead to a draw. 100% of the time. The Weasel shouldn't have to count each strike and decide which one is light, medium or heavy. Majority of adequate martial arts fans should be able to say which fighter won the fight. If you have to count strikes, that's already an L. I'd say only exception to this rule may be when the amount of strikes is very high and fight is entertaining, then yes, count away.
Excellent take, completely agree.
Too often do you see fighters cruise in later rounds, just because they know they'll be gifted a shady decision.

Joe Rogan disrespected a legend in Jan Blachowicz in front of everyone. I love Joe, but my respect for Jan Blachowicz is too great to accept this disrespect and humiliation without commenting. Well done Guru.
*Jan won that fight 48-47. I had him winning rounds 1, 2 & 3.* Worst case it was a draw, which despite sucking is probably a solid decision. Anyone who thinks Ankalaev won so decisively knows nothing about MMA.
Even if Yan won 1-3 which I disagree with then it was a conclusive draw because Ankalaev definitively won 4 and 5 with a 10-8 in 5 a draw is not worst case scenario, it’s best case scenario for Yan.
Facts. People are litterally running with this nonsense narrative. It was a very competitive fight, if u give the first round to Jan than it’s most certainly a draw
For no reason, there has been a consistent bias against Jan in his run up to the title and since his reign and losses. It's incredibly disrespectful.
Absolutely agree. It was like a C.I.A. tactic ffs. Poor Jan is too damn samurai like. You know, he's a man's man. Joe took advantage of that to set a narrative for the UFC. 100% unprofessional to say the least

Yeah I couldn't believe how unprofessional Joe was. I draw is actually a legitimate decision. It was just Paddy's "win" that made us all react so intensely.
I bet any money somebody was repeatedly shouting in his ear telling him to ask that stuff because you could tell Dana was really angry about how that fight went
He wasn't angry about the fight, he doesn't care about title fights when it doesn't involve a big money star. What he was mad about is Paddy losing and him having to call in a fix and pay the judges to score it the other way, then if anything they made a stink about the main event to draw attention away from the fix.

@@gottmituns6628 it is definitely weird. Couldn't find the reason, but it is blatant on how Rogan feels about Jan
My personal feeling, if he acted on his own, is that the two biggest matches of the card had unsatisfying results and he felt he needed to do something about it. He tried to give the results some sort of direction but he doesn't have enough charisma (like a Jon Anik would) to elaborate on a delicate situation without making it way worse. So rather than helping the situation by letting Jan say his part and acknowledging the differing opinions on the scorecards he tried to force his own biased narrative onto the match and coerce Jan into adopting it so the UFC could call it a night. Unprofessional as hell.
Joe should just be the guy that sticks to making overplayed reactions to knockouts so the UFC can clip it, post it everywhere, and get millions of views everytime they do.
Magomed couldn’t finish a tired 40 year old, he most certainly didn’t deserve the W. Had he not gotten that 10-8 in the fifth round, he would have lost.
But Jan was beaten in the 1st round by a 43 year old Glover.
Funny how people like you misrepresent facts. Ankalaev was fighting with no legs and still got a 10-8. If anything Jan was the one who was supposed to capitalize on that and finish Ank instead of getting dominated in the championship rounds.
@@3rdWorldNola Exactly, Glover's performance against Jan shows how overrated Ank is
@@columodonnell9202 MMA math don't work. Glover beat Jan. Jan beat Reyes. And Reyes beat Jones. Jones took Glover's soul
Jan isnt a tired 40 year old he showed us ANKALAEV cant PROTECT his leg
Happens to Jan every fight that goes to decision. If he doesn't flatline his opponent, his greatness is questioned. And Joe is always want to pursue his own narrative, the narrative he's most confident in. Jan being the great man he is, answers with honor and integrity, to the best of his ability. Rogan knew in the back of his mind he could steer a narrative that he wanted. He's steering a man and a champion who's been through a tough fight and using his own reputation as a backing to corner them into a certain response. It isn't right and it's very distasteful.
Thought the exact same. Rogan saying that Jan said give him the belt, Rogan kept pushing him to say it the whole time.
To me, I see Jan interrupting Joe saying "give him the belt," as Jan throwing the shade right back at Joe. Not an admission of defeat. Jan got fed up hearing Joe "we" all thought you won; and so showing a little bit of frustration, Jan comes in and says, " if you think he won, then you give him the belt. " Knowing Joe doesn't have the authority to do that. Kind of Jan's way of saying, Joe's opinion matters very very little
i thought the same
Anakalaev will get smoked he could barely wrestle tired 40 yo Jan. Imagine what would Glover do to him. He would submit him like a baby.
The problem is a lot of the fighters can't tell you because they are in the fight they have to go and watch it

The comparison of Rogan between Reyes and Jan is very interesting and does seem to reveal a possible operation where the post fight interview can be used to sway things
Agreed, it’s the same with the commentary too. They’ll actively score razor close rounds which are always bias towards a fighter with a more appealing style or personality.
The UFC treat Jan like shit and it’s probably because he won’t be bought to take a dive or something.
Just because a ton of salty muslims claim that Ankalaev won, doesn't mean that he really did. There's simply way less Polish and European fans who don't constantly spam comment sections about robberies and bs like that.

Rogan has done it in the past, even to Jan when he fought against Adesanya. Even Jan admitted that Joe made a statement in a way that manipulated his post-fight interview making him look like he definately lost the fight. (It was set up to create an opinion) Jan explained that he disagree with Rogan after seeing his fight.
