    Trident rock hard. Junna was a beast. Perfect power pop with huge chorus. I think they are getting better and better. Nagisa is the perfect drummer for them now. She had big shoes to fill. And man does she hit hard!!

    I really feel that Serena needs to be in the conversation about incredible young bass players in Japan. I love her style and what she does to be effective in a trio.

    Both of these songs are technically 'Girls Rock Band Kakumei', before Junna left and they changed their name to TRiDENT.

    I'm glad you mentioned Asaka's vocals. Nobody ever seems to notice what a Great vocalist she is. She occasionally slips in some pretty good lead guitar work too. I LOVE these young women. And I'm with Allan - IMHO Trident has a better sound with Narisa than they did with Junna. Junna is Great, but she's often too 'flashy' for the song and their total 'sound' suffers for it. Trident: *_Asaka_* (vocals), *_Serena_* (bass), *_Narisa_* (drums). Cry Out is really good: czcams.com/video/OCgr08Q7A6c/video.html . . and Distination (Destination?) is just Fun: czcams.com/video/We__CnrYa9U/video.html Both are with the New lineup.

    TRiDENT are immensely listenable. I would definitely still be a fan if Junna was still the drummer but I do agree that Nagisa is better for the band all around. She is completely badass. I think the "live" rendition of No Regret w Nagisa is best.
    They have some softer feels and some heavier feels and it all works. Try Ambivalent next :)

    Trident were founded in 2016, as ガールズロックバンド革命 (Girls Rock Band Kakumei, or “Girls Rock Band Revolution”). Their lineup under the original name consisted of:
    Asaka - Vocals & Guitar
    Serina- Bass & Chorus
    Junna- Drums (Original Member, left in 2020)
    After Junna left, Nagisa replaced her at drums, and they changed their name to Trident. They have collectively released two albums, two mini albums and several singles. Their style is fast, hard and heavy but melodic, with a dense sound for a three-piece band.
    As Kakumei:

    “Voltage” czcams.com/video/9k9txMouU34/video.html
    As Trident:

    “Spoopy” czcams.com/video/16APM8itvv0/video.html
    Junna has continued to make a name for herself through crazy drum covers posted on youtube, and session work with other groups. Here is her best-known cover, of “Through the Fire and Flames” by Dragonforce:

    I started a list for Trident a couple of months ago. Keepin' my eye on them. Why do I think I'm hearing early Rush in there somewhere.......?

  • @not-so-great-oldone9780

    Gotta love Trident, they really need more exposure like Lonesome Blue and Hanabie. Here’s something to consider: Kosame-Cord, you may have to hunt for the video but it’s worth it. it’s definitely different especially if you look up the backstory on it, you might feel traumatized afterwards but you’ll want to see it again.

    Their last EP “D-X” is possibly the best thing they’ve done. I think they are better since Junna left somehow.

    • @ckiemnstr345
      @ckiemnstr345 Před rokem +3

      With that EP they went out and got assistance with some of the best in the business at each respective song. Signal wouldn't be so amazing without the help of Koji Hirachi since they have minimal experience with synth and that is what Koji deals with all the time. I hope they learned a lot and can carry that into the future.

      I like Narisa a lot better myself for Trident. Junna is Great! - but - she plays too much and is too loud in the mix and muddles the melody and guitar parts. Also, Narisa's kit says Trident on it . . . instead of NARISA. And it shows in her drumming - she is a 'team' player.

    Their name was never Trident when Junna was in the band. It was Girls Rock Band Kakumei. Kakumei is "revolution" in English. They were also known as GRBK and my 2nd favorite group behind Band=maid. Now...I have to say Trident is my "new" 2nd favorite band. They changed their name to Trident when Junna left.
    Although I Junna is one of the best drummers around, I think Nagisa fits the band a little better. She's a great drummer and in a good way for the band, isn't as over powering compared to the others. Since they became Trident Asuka has really improved her vocals and expanded her guitar skills from just playing as a rhythm guitarist to also playing as a lead adding more solo bits, too.

    I’m kinda glad Junna was replaced by Nagisa. Her flamboyant style almost took away from the band’s overall talent. Nagisa is a much better fit imho.

    • @Wyl7
      @Wyl7 Před rokem +1

      Junna was way above their level. They needed someone who was a better match for their skills. I wish them well, but personally don’t care for the musical direction they’ve taken since Nagisa joined. But it’s all opinion, obviously a lot of people prefer what they’re doing nowadays.
