@Dragon Ball fans can't read you can’t interpret tone easily from a comment so I’ll forgive the snap back, but I was being genuine. I wish everyone could experience them the way I and apparently many others do. I will say it doesn’t make much sense that you’re seeking out Sleep Token reactions just to spread your dislike of them.
If you’re an elitist who wishes they would stop making music that doesn’t make sense either. The metal scene may not feel stagnant to you, but I think for a lot of people it is and having something to reinvigorate long-time listeners and bring in a whole new generation of metal heads is something the genre definitely has room for.
@Dragon Ball fans can't read fair enough. Musically I suppose I can see how it can feel disjointed to some people as that is a takeaway I have seen from others, but I don’t think that’s necessarily an objective truth.
It comes entirely down to musical taste and if the song structure and transitions are a problem to your ear then there’s nothing I can do to change that, but I hear smooth, intelligent transitions that seamlessly blend genres.
I guess my issue with your final statement would be, why does music have to be anything? I don’t see why they have to fit a mold just because we have prescribed genres. You say you try to remain objective, but should music be objective? I can and do appreciate technical ability from bands like Polyphia, Animals as Leaders, or Periphery, but music should make you feel something otherwise why do we listen to it?
Edit: I will check out Deicide’s Legion though.

ive been obsessed with this band since their new albumn dropped. never heard em before that. now i own all their albums and have a playlist for em i listen to daily. they deserve the huge growth in fans they have gotten recently. i cant wait to hear what they come up with next now that their trilogy is over. Worship!

I think Take Me Back To Eden is my favorite on the record. It, to me, is the perfected version of this song and The Summoning. I’m not sure if it was a conscious decision to have three songs of similar structure dispersed evenly throughout the album or not.
This song is soooooo deep i don't think people understand how deep this is. this song is about the old story of someone how is good but lives long enough to become the evil or bad they once fought against. " you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain" In this song he allowed himself to be changed by her negative energy to where he too at the end became like her. " You make me wish i could disappear!" He hates himself for what he has become.

I have been so obsessed with this band. Vessel's voice is so amazing and I absolutely love it when bands mesh genre's. Also, the lyrics in these songs are so good !!! Vessel is a crazy amazing song writer. My favorite song is "Take me back to Eden". It's playing 24/7 in my head no matter what I'm doing. The entire new album is a masterpiece though and alot of their older stuff as well.
Been paying attention to this band for awhile. Would highly recommend "Cold Night For Alligators", they're a band with a similar vibe. Their song "Behind Curtains" is amazing.

My favorite part about this is how you start out saying "this is 7 minutes???" and finished by saying "wait, is that the end???" Sleep Token's greatest skill is making a 7 minute song feel too short.
You should listen to the other two studio albums first. This one is the conclusion of a trilogy and him moving past some things. It’ll make sense if you go in order.
