I think we agree the fact that Teach is a bastard, but he's not an idiot like burgess🤣 He provoke Sabo about Ace story to get closer to kill Sabo, i think Teach would never do that when he have a big gap on power level
I'm gonna have to disagree, Teach is a massive idiot, his ambition seems to make up for it though lmao he may be the captain of his crew but he is just as bad when it comes to taunting his opponents and getting injured, though you are right that he doesn't get into fights unless he's completely sure he can beat them or it's part of the plan

NGL, we still don't have all the details about BB crew (If Oda will actually give them all lore to begin with) but as of right now, this could have been how Burgess died and it wouldn't affect the story one bit, I'm not saying this cuz I hate him, I genuinely don't care at all about him, he might as well not exist and the series could go on like normal, heck, he doesn't even seem to constitute 10% of the crews battle power with all the trashing he receives everytime he's on screen. He might be a close friend of Teach, one of the founders of the crew or other things but that would be all he is worth for, a little bit of extra lore for Teach, I'm saying this cuz he really feels like the weakest fleet captain in the verse :v then again it's Sabo so it's understandable that he lost, I imagine that it would be rather difficult for none G4 Luffy to tank his Hadou Elbow or Galleon Lariat directly.
Yeah even his recently revealed Devil Fruit isn't all that special. Sure, lifting a mountain is crazy but Garp mentions he punches through a bunch of them as daily training and even Kaido pretty much lifted an entire island with his powers. Personally, my favorite of Teach's other crewmates besides Kuzan is definitely Van Auger.
