Part 1 : Installing 3rd party Android Apps APK (such as netflix) in Unifi Plus Box (sideload apps)

WATCH PART 2:
• Part 2 : Installing 3r...
Step 1 : Install developer tool in your Unifi Plus Box via play store.
Step 2 : Enable USB debugging in developer tool.
Step 3: Go to Unifi Plus box setting to remember your home wifi address.
Step 4: Now go to your computer, if Window, open Command Prompt; if Mac, open terminal
Step 5: Install (ADB For Window) OR (Nexus tool for Mac), refer useful link below.
Step 6: After install, connect the computer to unifi box with command 'adb connect' space ip address and hit enter.
Step 7: After connection established, use command 'adb install' then drag your apk to after the command 'adb install', other wise, manually insert your apk file location & hit enter.
Step 8: If successfully installed, if it is not appear on the tv box, go to Setting-- App-- System App, they will be there.
Step 9: Install TV launcher from play store, so you can easily access the new app that you installed from tv box home page.
Step 10 : Enjoy!
***IF COMMAND NOT FOUND, that mean your mac not able to locate Nexus tool location, use this command, without () :
(export PATH="/Users/****/.nexustools":PATH)
for ****, refer your mac machine username or double check file location.

just skip that usb part. connect using the ip address as OP showed in the video

I punya keluar command not found and use export PATH="user.fahmimuhazi/nexustools":PATH and hit enter . after that connect the ip again it still not found

Yes...too bad this version of Netflix require mouse to operate.
actually i managed to get the android tv version of netflix running. works well with remote. basically need to mod the APK itself to use different ESN since this box is not certified by Netflix. Let me know if you guys want the Modded APK for this box.

Yes you are right, mouse is require. However if you are doing search in Netflix, then remote is require to type in the word in search. A little bit troublesome.

Seems like the newer version of Plus box require password to enter developer mode! Please try this method for now, let me know if it is working :
Connect box to your computer via wifi / usb
Open a Command Prompt or Terminal window to your ADB installation directory.
Type in adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key and hit Enter.

Hi, once installed any apk in the plus box, how do we perform any future updates to the apks? Ive sideloaded many apk & just was working fine. After certain time the apks receive update notification but when applied, the update just wont install. These were not happen in my other android box. Any advice?

There is a usb port on the unifi plus box, just insert the usb mouse device it will connect automatically.

When u r browsing the show? Try click and hold the mouse button, then u drag the list of show from right to left, the list of show should be moving

2. Or the IP adress which is unauthorised.

Im using windows and did these steps but netflix didnt appear in my unifi plux box.
1) downloaded ADB for windows and netflix version 7.91 HD
2) extract ADB
3) open powershell/ command prompt
4) ./adb connect (successful)
5) ./adb install (successful)
6:02 go into setting to find netflix, because it won't appear on homepage. So get TV launcher app to find Netflix easier
able to install netflix apk in my unifi plus box. But when I open the app, it hang.....not responding to remote control...

I think cannot disable. But u can try install Astro Go app first

Hi, Because computer does not recognise the file location, Plz look at 4:04 where is the location of Nexus tool installed ( Users/xxx/.nexustools). and then, use command --> export PATH="FILE LOCATION":$PATH. replace the file location url. so that computer can relocate the file location
