How to Skate | Strut Walk

- Join me Abominatrix as we explore the Strut Walk. The move on roller skates that makes you feel oh so hippy, so glam, so sassy! March/Roll to the beat like your on a catwalk. A fabulous blending tool to link skate dance moves together. Also a silky groovy move all on it's own!
Made up of four parts: Starting with the (1) function of the footwork, in combination with (2) the stance that gives way to (3) alternating leads for the illusion of a backwards movement while actually (4) traveling forwards!
Like baking a pie, you gotta take each ingredient step by step. I LOVE this move and I hope you learn to dig it as much as I do.

I can’t figure out where the forward movement comes from. Staying in place I can do but where does the actual momentum come from for moving forward?

I seem to go backwards not forwards. Trying again.....
How do you keep your momentum going forward? I end up moving backwards when I do this :(

When doing a how to it helps to first show what you are trying to teach. Like show the move or trick then show the how to part

Libby Thomas thank you. And the toe caps I have here are actually a spray on protective rubber and it was a VERY careful yet artful application. I shot a tutorial on it with my pal Dita.
