Very exciting tool set. Thanks for the video. Bill mentions at the end that his sharpening tool also works on planets.
Wow, thanks for this explanation, Hunter. I will try this out.
Well done!! Thanks for covering this!
If you go through Bill Blnashan’s video he demonstrates how to use the process to adjust the settings for the Solar Rim and reveal the prominence. You also can use masking to prevent the background from blowing out.
It’s possible that there are some prominences on the limb in your image. Did you try boosting the prominence slider all the way to the right to see if anything appears?
I did but it started blowing out the background
There’s a slider that lets you change the black point that basically wipes out the background so that it can’t cause trouble when you’re stretching the prominences. Maybe that would help if there are prominences there. I was working on an image that didn’t seem to have any prominences until I got to about 0.9 our of 1.0 on the slider, but they appeared without causing the problems you reported, and I don’t expect my data to have been better than yours.

That link didn't work. I also went to the main Cosmic Photons website and saw no mention of a solar toolbox. Help.
What build version of PI do you have? It's not on his website but if you copy the link and add into the repository should be fine. Gotta make sure you have build 1597 or greater of Pi
1601 is what I have. I just got 1.8.9-2 this week and the new Gradient correction tool. I will try that.
