I adore her as a human but also her diet is such a BREATH of fresh air. Yummy recipes, a balanced diet with healthy and fun foods, and i just love her enthusiasm for food and eating.

Obviously WIEID do not determine someonesr relationship with food etc. And Lana has been open about her ED. It just seems about misleading to not mention it at all in this video?? You also didn't say anything in Emma's too..?
@@Lolathebluesmartie as far is I’m aware she no longer has an eating disorder so yes maybe Abbey could mention that Lana HAD an eating disorder and NOW has a healthy relationship with food but otherwise there’s nothing wrong with this video

Chefs don't talk about food with that much love or enjoyment or ENTHUSIASM. She should be a nurse. Her personality would fit so well. She's bright, positive and just seems like a,,,,,,,,wait for it.............real human who doesn't pretend to eat healthy. She's no cookie cutter and I love that about her. Just hope she's strong enough to fight the Hollywoood "If you don't agree with us, we'll ignore you".

It’s SO refreshing to see someone who genuinely loves and eats food!
I feel like we often see these celebrities who like to talk about how all they eat is burgers or pasta (to seem relatable I guess) but a lot of the time it doesn't seem at all genuine. This is a woman who loves and enjoys food for everything that it is and we love to see it!

I have suffered from eating disorders my whole life. A lot of had to do with feeling guilty about every single thing I eat and that feeling leading to binges. The way you talk about food has changed my way of thinking sooo much. Thank you so so much.

Bread is the one thing I can absolutely NOT do without! Cut out bread, and you will see the biggest bread binge on record happening!! Especially home baked wholewheat bread with nuts and seeds! Yum!!!

abbey. seriously. don't know how you do it, but i've been bingeing your videos the past few days and it's somehow flipped a switch in me. i suffered with restricting eating my whole teens, and when i put on weight i just assumed i was "fixed" even though i've been yoyo-ing for years since then. your attitude and your advice has reminded me to not be afraid of food, but to enjoy it and to feed myself properly. i'm also hiding any ads on facebook or instagram that feed into diet culture and ready to cultivate a healthier mind for myself.

In México, parents tell their kids broccoli is called "little trees", arbolitos, in spanish and i actually don´t know much kids that DON´T like broccoli
"Arbolitos"😂that's so cute! When we were little kids we were told broccoli florets were trees and never had any trouble eating them but now they have a name!
I didn’t know that. My mom is from Mexico and when i asked her what they call broccoli she said it’s the same as in English, only with an accent. I’m gonna question her lol.

@@wing_111 Oh, yes yes it´s actually also called brocoli, but moms or at least mine, used to called them like that when we were kids
"Why have a snack when you can have a full meal?" is basically my motto at this point. Like, otherwise I feel like I'm just constantly playing catch-up with my hunger.
Plus, what is a snack but a small meal? :p

Broccoli chicken Alfredo pasta go so good together. I don’t know why, bulking the pasta with broccoli is just such a good mix.
It's the best, I almost always add broccoli (or peas) to pasta dishes. Especially chicken alfredo with broccoli, yum 😋

Also, I love the idea of adding spiralized veg to your noodles to bulk up fibre and nutrients. Great tip Abbey, I’ll have to try it!

@@AbbeysKitchen Same, love the tip! When you first mentioned veggies, all I could think about was this salmon leek pasta (mushrooms also go great in this), and it didn't occur to me you can have a rainbow of noodles!
Sometimes I have done that, I also use high protein pasta, like yellow lentils or chick pea and mixed it with other gluten free pasta like rice and quinoa. I love pasta very much too

Don’t mean to put women’s diets against each other. But this is how well balanced people eat. Normal fresh food with occasional processed stuff. When people were defending M. Kerr’s diet, I don’t think they realize that people who are “attractive” and “thin” can also eat balanced / calorically dense foods.
This diet mirrors a person with a non-acting job, possibly with kids, albeit upper middle class as fish etc can be expensive, can eat sustainably.
Kerr’s diet on the other hand is fine for a VS model, but not realistic nor sustainable for anyone else.
But e.g. frozen fish is affordable and as good as fresh for most recipes :)
@@marianna3253 yeah exactly. i'm mostly pescatarian (really only consume meat if it is sourced from a butcher, at a phenomenal restaurant, or if I/ associate of mine hunts it). I am a bit of a fish snob, so my "fish bill" can get pretty high! Thankfully, I live on the coast of my country and can source it easily or catch it myself (crabs & oysters!). Frozen fish is accessible in most areas that aren't complete food deserts and a great option!

I love broccoli. Steamed broccoli with lemon juice + tahini dressing and a speck of salt. I'll take that any day. Add toasted sesame seeds for good measure.

Abbey, I would love to see a video on NIGHTSHIFT. I am a nurse and as part of my job it is essential I do Nightshift a couple of times a year.
This causes me a lot of problems with diet and digestion! I lose my appetite, my eating habits change, I'm not eating during the day, I feel nauseous and I generally lack motivation/energy. I literally feel back to front and up side down all at the same time 🙈

@@Ahpdd Body dysmorphic disorder, which is a mental health condition causing the person to worry a lot about their appearance. I’m sure there is a lot more to it but I don’t have the knowledge or expertise to explain it further.

Hi Abbey, I love your videos and as a newly vegan (for ethical reasons) I love to watch and get ideas for meals :). My dad has recently been claiming that cutting out grains (not carbs as I thought he meant) is making him feel clearer in his head and says there is also the "added benefit" of weight loss. I have been fighting him on this and he politely pointed out that for him it works. I was wondering if you could talk about that, whether cutting out grains is ok, and if it is even a sustainable diet, or even healthy!? Again LOVE your videos!

@@shslsomething8195 It’s overall every time she goes off plan her fasting and restriction is disturbing. She shows all signs of orthorexic behavior fearing foods. And lives in a constant binge restrict cycle. Her new videos she is showing improvement but she hasn’t promoted healthy food behavior with her going off plan gaining weight and doing 96 hour fast as punishment

Loved this episode of WIEIAD, Abbey. I'd love to suggest something for an episode: variety based on where you live. Not all kinds of produce or seeds or meats are available everywhere. Maybe do a WIEIAD or a suggested, balanced menu for a day and then provide alternatives?

This was a breath of fresh air! I would be interested to see you discuss the sport of bodybuilding, if someone views it in a similar mindset as, this is their job (or a way to make a living crafting their body), not those who use it simply as a goal because they want to lose fat.
