Good video! It felt like a lot of information packed into quite a short video but it was still easily digestable. I think James Popsys made a video on the same kind of subject but his was more photo focused whereas this one was more video focused.
Good video! I've been shooting for over 30 years and I've heard every variation of this argument. I was a lead educator for Adobe for a while and one thing I would tell all my students was, use the tools that will help you achieve your desired goals. Because at the end of the day, they are just tools. How you use them is what will define your style as an artist and/or professional.
i can see the future i guess, a guy named remy leonard is gonna have 100s of thousand of subscribers if not millions in a very short span of time based on the quality of content delivered, Wish you all the best :)
When I take pictures with zooms I like to first frame my shot, and then mimic the "Dolly Zoom" technique to dial-in how much compression I want. When I work with primes, I still try to find the compression & framing I want, but I often make a panorama or do a crop in post.
@neostephens8980 if you watched the video then, you'd know that the title is hyperbole. Obviously the person operating the camera is the biggest factor, no one would dispute that fact. I never said primes make you more creative, but can force you to be creative by limiting your options.
@neostephens8980 if you think about it, all titles are technically click bait. But of course there's the meaning of the term that most people know, and I do not think it's at all misleading, slightly exaggerated, sure, but not false advertising. Technically, not even advertising at all since I'm not selling you anything
And the Vertigo shots!
True, can't forget those

Thanks. And yeah that seems like something he would talk about

Exactly
I agree. This is the right way to approach zoom lenses.

Appreciate it

That's fair. Definitely a unique way to do it
"prime" content mate 😉 cheers
Brother! You are on the money.
BS! A lens doesn't kill your creativity or make you creative - it's the person behind the lens.
Did you watch the video or are you just commenting on the title?
@@itmeremy Yes

@@itmeremy So in other words, CLICK BAIT TITLE - now that's not being creative. IJS
