No joke, I remember when this video was first uploaded 14+ years ago. It's unbelievable how quickly time passes us by...I remember I was really struggling at the time too. I was entering my teenage years and was dealing with a lot of really emotional stuff. There were some times I didn't know how I'd make it through my day-to-day life. I really loved Shadow the Hedgehog though and I played Sonic games and watched Sonic X basically every free moment of my day to escape the sadness. I was obsessed with Shadow the Hedgehog in particular because I really loved SA2. Some days it felt like that hedgehog was the only creature in the entire universe who understood the pain, abandonment, and loss I was going through. I watched this particular video a lot because it was my favorite song at the time (and actually still is to this very day!) Now, a lot of aspects of my life are a lot better than they were back then. I still struggle with some of the scars left from that time in my life, but I finished college and have a great job in a place I really love. I have friends and I genuinely enjoy living my life. It sounds so stupid and cheesy, but I really don't know if I could have made it this far without Shadow showing me it was ok to cry, to miss the love I lost (and mourn the love I never had) and to move forward and find new purpose and happiness. The new Sonic movie (end credits scene...) reminded me of this video, so I just had to come back and see it again. It's still just as amazing now as it was 14+ years ago. If you're reading this and going through a difficult time, remember. Life DOES get better. Trauma and pain often linger with us in some way forever...just like Shadow's...but the happiness, belonging, and sense of purpose you find after those difficult times makes life an incredible journey. Keep moving forward and remember when you face hardships, you can get through anything. We're all "Ultimate Lifeforms" when we commit to live a good life with a good purpose. 🖤❤🖤❤
